Thor! Thor! aka Yahve's having a field day

So. It was hot. For days. Seriously hot. I mean at night it was about 30°C and not even a single breeze stirred.

And the next day... today... Storm hit. Not just a small storm, no. It was a Storm. I was out taking pictures of the incoming huge clouds that the strong winds swept in. I got a few faceful of leaves and flying debris and tried my best to pack stuff away.

Then thunder rolled and lightning struck and it was a whole new level of fun. The clouds were rather scary, and the wind was way too strong for me, which is really something. I mean it nearly blew me off of the balcony.

So I relocated inside just when rain finally reached our hill too. And hail. Big as cherries.

And the colours...! I mean everything turned green. And the next thing I know I couldn't see the neighboring buildings because of the heavy rain.

And when I could come out, it was over, but the aftermath wasn't that bad either.

(Oh and before you ask, YHVH used to be a thunder a fertility god of a single Jewish tribe before the became the one an only.)

I'm so darn creative these days

So. Today I got out the sewing machine and made myself a skirt. Sadly, I think it's too see-through so I'll have to get an in-built underskirt for it, which means more sewing. So it's not entirely done yet. But boy, it's pretty!

And the second project of today: my bag. I saw a bag in a similar style and fell in love with it, but not for that price. Actually, the material was very pretty with ornate patterns, like an old tapestry.

But the price was high, so I went to a cloth shop and bought myself a shockingly purple cloth and made myself a bag out of it. I also saw some pretty diy sew-on patterns in the hobby shop a few days ago so I'll let my creativity run wild with the bag. But until then, my bag looks like this. Oh and the zipper I had at home was a beige colour that actually matched the stripes in the material so I decided not to brave the 36°C for a purple zipper.

Isn't it pretty? :D It took me 2 hours, but I'm so proud!

Úgyhogy most csakazértis magyrul, nyakhajlásig! :D

Most egy kicsit büszke leszek magamra, jó?

És persze lediplomáztam. Hogy szalad az idő! Mindjárt vén banya leszek. Hajaj.
Már csak egy jó állás kéne, és akár felnőttnek is nevezhetném magam...

...most megyek és rituális öngyilkosságot követek el, ha senki se bánja.

...meh.

New skirt

What the title says. We've bought it for 30% of the original price. Great sale, awesome catch. Me very happy.

here is to moving and the all-new look

What can I say? I needed something new.

So I moved my blog to a more fitting (in my opinion) address and did a much-needed make-over.

It was getting old with the leaves and suchlikes, no?

Well anyway, this shall be my new blog address and we shall see how long this look will last.

If you have anything to comment on about the new look, feel free to.

...hmmph

A srácok megérkeztek. Én közöltem Cliffel, hogy utálom. Erre mind dőltek a röhögéstől.

Welcome to monsoon country!

We have all! Downpour, storm, drizzle, hail, floods and cats and dogs. Yay!!

I'm really irritated with the weather. Who the hell switched our summer with tropical "winter" anyway?

Sam, the thirsty coala

This video made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Poor little coala.

The poor thing chugged down 3 bottles of water and her (I think?) paws were badly scorched. But she's recovering!

I love this place!

Midsummer

This sucks. Seriously. Last night was the Museum Night (held each year on the Saturday closest to Midsummer) and it was one of the coldest nights of this summer. It was about 11°C (or less) and it was the first time I didn't go.

For one thing, I have already seen all the exhibitions I wanted to, and for another... it was seriously one of the worst nights ever. Cold, wet, chilly.

I remember that on every Museum Night we fanned ourselves even at 10 in the evening.
I remember 3 years ago standing in line in front of the Asian Museum waiting to get in and see the exquisite jewelry boxes, and dying of the hot weather. At 22:00! (Give or take a couple of minutes.)
Last year and the year before we picked underground places, like the Labyrinth under the Castle District and the Bunker that was used in both World Wars. It was nice and cool down those places. And we felt glad.
We had to refill our bottles with water every few hours and still dying of thirst.

But this... this weather is like late autumn.

And tonight was Midsummer. (Technically it was yesterday night but it's past 3 in the morning and I haven't gone to sleep yet - but will do so after writing this.) And this is the coldest, unfriendliest, wettest Midsummer I've been able to remember.

It sucks. Midsummer should be hot during the day and balmy in the evening, you should be able to go out in skimpy clothing and light bonfires, jump over (small) fires and generally enjoy the whole thing. (I left out the bacon because that's not healthy :P.)

But this year Midsummer was... like the autumn equinox. The sun never shone, we had 14°C during the day, heavy clouds, rains here and there, fog, cutting wind... you get it. And the weather has been like this for weeks. For a few days it gets better and then it's back to wet and cold and overcast and foggy and just plain disgusting. It's your average cut-your-wrist-depressing weather.

I frikkin hate this! >< Where did my summer go?

Do you think I'm crazy for thinking he's hot?

Friday, June 05, 2009

Tonight I was doing random browsing again. And as we all (should know) it usually gives some very... interesting results.

Actually, after a while I ended up on a page with a lot of... come to think of it, let's not talk about that. Like... ever.

So... what else did I see? Seifer. As a kid, in clothing that is probably every pedophile's daydream. I mean they couldn't have made it skimpier while it looked... well... kind of boyish. I mean with hotpants he would have looked like a girl. But seriously... why would a guy wear a top that shows off his frikkin bellybutton? I dunno who's to blame for this, Disney or Square Enix, but boy... eeeek!

And yes, yes, I know Kingdom Hearts II has been out since ages, but still. Now I know it was good never to touch another FF game ever again. *whimper*

And then... oh my dear eyeballs... I saw a female cosplaying as Seifer. The boobies were sticking out of the top.

Disgusting.

I honestly don't get women who cosplay male characters. Is it some sort of mental illness on their part like: "Since I can't get *insert character name here* I'll cosplay as him, tee-hee!" or something similar? I mean sure it has some kind of twisted logic to it but it's still sick.

Girls dressing as ordinary boys I have no problem with, but girls cosplaying as guys I have lots. I think I did say this once before, but I'll say it again: it should be punishable by law. It's the same as some hairy-legged guy crossdressing/cosplaying as some skimpy anime girl. Or someone flat as a board dressing up as some voluptious anime girl. It's just so wrong on so many levels.

I don't get people who cosplay as someone who is not the right gender, doesn't match the body type, is a totally different height or just looks plain wrong as the character. And trust me, after seeing some girl the size of a baby hippo dressed as Sakura with pink hair and frills it's... creepy.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not slim either, I'm not dissing anyone because they happen to be fat. I'm dissing them because they have no self-awareness that they look plain wrong and... disgusting cosplaying like someone who definitely doesn't look anything like them. It's plain wrong. If I ever see someone like that I'll point my finger and laugh.

So here are a few cosplay images that make me retch:

A female Seifer cosplayer, who's not only female but fugly as well. I never imagined Seifer as a skank. I mean there was always Fujin...

Yes, this one is also supposed to be Seifer. I can't really say why. And notice the... uh... gloves. They look painful on so many levels. Scuse me while I look for a bucket.

A male Faye. Enjoy. I enjoy it just as much as the female skank Seifer. I hope now everybody sees my point.

Couldn't find the hippo, so... here's another. Dunno who she's supposed to be... but ouch.

Catgirl... in a different light. It'll give me nightmares for weeks.

And last but not least... at least he's honest about it. :D

Whoops...

Today I was caught staring at an Asian guy. He was most probably either Chinese or Vietnamese. He most definitely wasn't Japanese, that I could tell. He was also most definitely cute and I was so engrossed in staring I didn't notice he was looking back.

Whoops.

But hey, he didn't seem to mind.

Maybe it is like what Sam told me. I'm turning into an Asianphile... Cliff, if you read this, you'd better run!

...just joking.
...but he was still very cute...

I think I'm in love.

The new fountain pen I've been gifted with (Thank you, Eleanor!) is like a dream.
The tip writes thinly but beautifully, it's light and makes just enough scraping sound - like a fountain pen is supposed to.

Also, it's purple with green stars.

Ok, there's a redheaded girl on it, but still, I've had much sillier looking pens than this one, and this one writes like a dream. It's awesome!

So... I love it! ^^

Men are bloody inconsiderate, and it's pissing me off.

Lately, men I know say to me: "Hey, I wanna do this, let's go!" or "This sounds interesting, my treat.". Well, their treat is nice and all but what if I don't wanna go? What about asking me what I want to do?

I prefer to do things at my pace. It probably comes from being an only child. The fact is, I prefer more alone time. I hate to spend a day with someone. Anyone. Well, probably save for about 3-5 people, but they are all female, all long time friends and I don't feel being suffocated even if we do spend a day or a week or two together.

Guys on the other hand never can get me into a comfortable mood. I mean I've never found a guy with the same interests, and as I have mentioned, who would ask me if I wanna do something... or not. It's suffocating. I am a loner, I admit that, but then again, is it really enjoyable if you have to watch or read something you hate because the other party wants you to?

They either want me to read, watch or do things I hate or at least can't enjoy, or they want me to do things (either things I hate or generally don't mind to do) when I want to do other things. But do they care if I'm up to any of these? Hell no.

Well, they don't usually care. Thanks to that I have to think of many excuses. But since I've had ENOUGH, I'll prolly just say I'll have to feed my dinosaur.

Tsundere

Since I've totally forgotten what I wanted to talk about today...

Actually, I was composing my blog entry while I watered my grandma's garden for a whole hour - a quite satisfying workout if I might add with climbing of steps, pulling of heavy, uncooperative hose and jumping about whenever discovering dead, half-chewed baby birds... ick!! - and I promptly forgot what I wanted to write. C'est la vie.

So... back to a title I have been gifted with a while ago and which came up again tonight... and a title that should describe me, which I do not agree with. At all.

So... what exactly is this tsundere word and what does it stand for? Don't worry, I'll quote wiki.

"Tsundere (ツンデレ ) is a Japanese word for a character archetype which describes a person with a conceited, spiky, combative personality that suddenly becomes modest and loving when triggered by some sort of cause (such as being alone with someone).
(...)
Tsundere is a combination of the two words tsuntsun (ツンツン ), and deredere (デレデレ ). Tsuntsun is defined as "aloof, morose, pointed", and deredere is defined as "exhausted, lovestruck"."

...I must admit, I do not agree. I'm not dere at all. *pout*

mothers day

Well, since I am into Chinese knots this spring, I decided to do some knotwork ornament for my mom this year. She always tells me not to buy useless stuff for her, because she doesn't want any, she has all kinds of beaded jewelry, thanks to me and seriously, I'll have to do beaded stuff for her Birthday and Name-day so...

So I had some leftover, shorter (like 1m long) silk cord, so I made a button knot, a butterfly knot, two double-coin knots with some added yellow silk cord and finished it with another button knot. It wasn't all that difficult, but it sure looked hot. Of course I'm slowly getting better at making more and more difficult patterns, I mean the butterfly knot is a variant of the pan-chang knot, but I'm nowhere near being able to tie the mystic's knot.

Anyway... long story short, she took it, showed it to my dad and then attached it to the handle of her bag. ^^

So when I finally got around to making a picture of it, it was already attached to her bag. Forgive me for the strange angle.

I'm pissed off

I'm angry. Obviously, I'm not the right kind of friend for half my... friends.

I've came to realize that lying is one of the most important things in maintaining a friendship, and it doesn't sit well with me. Mostly, because I have to use white (or a bit darker shade of) lies to keep our friendships going smoothly, and then swallow a few things from them, things that I feel are a bit too cruel. And they say they just didn't want to lie.

True. Truth hurts. But why is it that in our friendships it's only me who gets hurt by the "truth"? I wonder.

If I tell the truth, I'm get told "that really hurt" or "you're hurting me", but if I'm hurt, I hardly get a "sorry" in return. So I wonder sometimes if it's really worth it. I mean sure, I really wish to tell some people things like "yeah, your folks are completely right, and you should really wake up and realize in what kind of situation you are", or "of course no girl would go out with you, since you fall in love with a new girl every 2-3 days, you don't even seem remotely serious, not manly either, and for god's sake, why the hell do you have to talk about other women while you're trying to sweet-talk another one?!", or "and which guy are you going out with today?", or even "yeah, and you're telling me you didn't really like her because you got dumped... suuuuure". And the list goes on.

Yeah, I know I'm not easy to deal with. My priorities are skewered badly, like I'd sooner buy a bag of pretty beads than buy a movie ticket or coffee. I also know I have a twisted personality, open my mouth to change feet and I whine way too much... not to mention how much of an introvert I am. But I know all that. Don't think I don't beat up myself over it every day. But hell, I don't keep it a secret. I tell people beforehand. I expect them to know. I sometimes feel like changing myself, but then again, every time I try, I get a slap on the hand by life... but again, let's not go there. There is a reason why I'm the way I am, and at the moment I'm pretty much satisfied with my personality. I consider myself more or less sane, normal and reasonable. I could be a lot worse. (Or it could be much better.)

So back to my friends... I dunno what to do. I'm not saying they suck, but maybe I'll be just simply honest for a change next time they ask for my honest opinion - and they'll get it. My honest opinion, that is. They'll probably not like it, and I guess then I'll see some interesting reactions.

And I think I'll be looking for some new friends if they don't realize that honesty is always brutal - and that honesty goes both ways in a friendship.

...hail...storm...OUCH!

Well, I'm gonna start with all people usually say: it was such a nice day.
The birds chirped like no tomorrow, bees buzzed, the cats lazed around on the sun-warmed concrete patch in the garden, and it was frikkin warm.

So I left in jeans, a sleeveless shirt with a see-through shirt over it, for decency's sake and a light vest stuffed in my bag, in case I take too long. I had some errands to run for my folks and to buy some stuff for my projects. (Like 100% cotton thread and wooden and porcelain beads for macrame.)

Anyway, I saw the clouds when I exited the first shop, and stopped walking. Luckily, nobody bumped into me. Then I removed my sunglasses, but they still looked damned formidable. They were hailstorm clouds, or at least clouds that promised some serious storm business. I mean they were the colour of denim (the greenish-grayish-bluish kind) and I know that colour pretty well. But alas, they had already passed over that place already, so I decided not to run home, instead I went into the bead shop and bought the big wooden and porcelain beads. Quickly tho.

Then I started on my way home. I saw the clouds again on the other side of the Duna (aka Danube), the other, not where I live. But... as luck would have it, just when I was 3 stops from home (5 minutes bus ride) it started raining. And something started clicking on the top of the bus. I looked out and lo and behold, hail!

Now I knew there was a small shelter at the bus stop, and when the bus actually stopped, hails were pelting from the sky like someone had tilted over the bucket. I jumped out of the bus and under the shelter and stood there, hunched into as small a person as possible and put my vest on. The bus driver checked the windshield wipers, and they weren't broke, but he looked at them anyway... Oh dear. And then the bus actually stopped there because the driver couldn't see. But after a while it went on.

The rain and the hail calmed down a little, so I left the shelter, and after a moment or so it started up again. I had to cross the street and I stepped into the sloshing rainwater and it came up to my ankles. Yay, I loved storms like these. I was in sandals, so at least as soon as the water poured in, it poured out too.

When I rounded the corner, I saw... mist. The cold water poured down on hot stone and asphalt, so the whole street was covered in mist. And lots of sloshing water. Yay.

Anyway, once I got home, I was sopping wet. I hung out my clothes to dry, took a hot shower, washed my hair and then took some piccies of the ice around the house. Will add later.

So... my conclusion: walking in hail is so not a nice thing.

Monday, April 13, 2009

Not again...

Just as the title says. Spoilers ahead by the way.

So... of course another favourite character of mine is dead. Not sure I'd want to read more Dresden Files books. I mean with Morgan dead it's just not the same. I really liked the guy. Grumpy and bad-tempered and paranoid, he was sort of like Snape. Who was my favourite, and also got killed off.

Pisses me off. Why always my faves?

When will any of my faves stay alive ever?

Seriously... Just ask me who my favourite character is and be sure he will die soon, probably acting out of character on the way.

Oh joy.

Friday, April 10, 2009

I think I have been condemned to the fate of all my favourite characters dying abruptly (in TV shows) in the most out of character way possible.

No matter who I like, they die. And the reason is always crappy and always OOC.

Oh and Kutner and suicide? When he was so afraid of the death cat he nearly climbed the walls to get away? No. Not plausible at all.

Seriously, House is going so downhill it's moving vertically.

Where have all the good shows gone off to?

Saturday, April 04, 2009

Did some light shopping today. Buttons, outdoor flip-flops for the summer and dark pants *not* made from denim. Yay, now I have some nice business wear too.

And then... when I came back from shopping and got horizontal with my window open and feeling vaguely guilty for wanting to own a shotgun and kill all those fucking loud birds outside I thought about House...

And I thought what if Sendhil Ramamurthy played Kutner? Yup, that thought flashed through my mind and I'm still dazed. *blush* I mean... eye candy. Sure, both House and Wilson look good, and I have a soft spot for Taub for some reason (yeah, it's prolly the nose), although less not that he lied. But still... Yeah, he'd have stolen all the fans, so that would have been bad. Also, he's prolly still in Heroes, unless they've killed him off now too. But still... whoa.

Also, it's so nice, the warmth and the sunlight. I came to love clear, open places and sunlight... I think I'm thinking more and more like a plant. But as long as I don't become a vegetable... (yeah, bad pun. Sorry.)

Anyway, I like this late spring feeling. I just hope my tulips will have time to flower.

Thursday, April 02, 2009

Sunshine

Well, spring got dragged in finally. I mean I'm fairly used to snow in March and April, but yay, finally it's sunshine and cherry blossoms.

Not about to turn into a Japanese and bring out a blanket and drink tea and watch the cherry blossoms fall, but hey, cherry blossoms have a really nice smell. Also, they are pretty much the heralds of spring.

I've moved my herb garden and all my other plants from the windowsill to the balcony railing, so they get more sun. It's getting more and more crowded. I mean most of the balcony is covered in greens. Sadly, the thyme died, but that was my mom who killed it, so... Gonna have to buy another one, and soon. Two of my small lavender plants also bit the dust, but that was the cold winter that did them in, most probably, as each had a partner in the same box that survived. And there was lots of space, so... so I shall plant new lavender.

All my chrysanthemums seem to have survived, although I'll have to nip the old blossoms and the dried out pieces. It'll take me some serious shokoban to move the stuff out of the way so I'd be able to sweep the multitude of fallen petals off the balcony. Yay, go me.

My tulips have somehow, secretly multiplied. I've bought 2 bulbs a few years ago, and now there are so many leaves... Not that I mind. Purple-black tulips are always pretty, especially mine. ^^ I just dunno how they did it, the little sneaks.

So far, my herb survivors: tarragon, lavender(s, especially the huge potted ones), curry, hypericum (NOT kidding), the peppermint... Sadly, the thyme died, and so did the sage last autumn. So I'll have to replace them.

Luckily, all three of my mini roses survived. I hope they'll stay up and about this year too.

And come to think of it, it's nearly time for adding some fertilizer to the soil. And since I had my dad buy me a huge sackful of it (yup, cow dung, if you were wondering), I shall put it to good use.

Oh and by the way, ever since the sun came up and I'm not sitting in a cold, dank wintry world... I can't stop grinning. I think I'm too many parts plant. A carnivorous one at that. Heheh.

So... That's about it.

The End of the World... yet again

I had another end of the world dream. Again. I have them fairly often. I mean this year (make it nearly 3 months) it's already a two digit number, the amount of apocalyptic dreams I had so far. Dunno how many tho.

Anyway, since I have a slight fever, it had been ice age dreams. Both times. I was woken up, tried to clear my airways for an hour and went back to sleep after the first one.

So... the first one prolly had lots of symbols. I can't be hedgehogged to find out.
Me and my childhood friend went to a small, rural little village to spend a summer in a little house (not on the prairie, but close), and we had the owner's son with us... so we were three. Incidentally, the owner's son was my old classmate from highschool... who was also my crush. (Yup, that same old ugly guy. Yikes, I seriously dunno what I liked in him.)

Anyway, my friend ditched us, because she just wanted to get away fr4om her folks and wanted to spend time with her boyfriend. Actually... nothing symbolic in that one, she really needs some time off... her folks are... weird, and if I say it, they are very weird.

Anyway, I was left alone with my old classmate, and he was trying to make a chair. I remember he put it together from old chair pieces, each one from a different chair, the last, surviving part and so on. So he spent a great amount of time trying to get the paint and lacquer off.

I spent some time talking to our neighbour, who handed me a little child's toy (a toy from a kinder egg) saying soon, I will need to use it.

Also, we took a tour one evening, actually, it was midsummer evening, because there was a fair hosted in the lake. Well, actually on. It was shallow enough that it only reached up to our knees, and there was a maze. And I had a venetian mask on, and my friend remarked that it's nice that I finally have my old mask back on.

Anyway, we got out of the lake and back from the fair, when news reached us on the radio that there is something coming, and that everybody needs to evacuate and get back home (obviously, it was a tourist resort kind of rural town). But my folks on the phone told me not to, because it is already snowing heavily over there. So I stayed. Me and the guy were the only ones staying, and I offered to go and raid the shops for food and some new paint forhis chair that he was just about to complete.

When we were just outside of the house, snow began to fall.

The second dream was much shorter. It was like the first one, but the friend was different and so was the place.

I was overseas. My friend was out shopping, this one too with her bf. They were trying to find water ski supplies. I just washed my hair and I was worried that my hair dye would taint the white towel, and true, it did. It had big black splatters and splotches on it. So I chucked it into the washing machine.

Then, I was in trying on a bikini of all things and tying my see-through shawl with the Buddhist mantras around me. (Lucky me, in my dream I knew where it went to.) I even knew how to read them, but when I sat down to read it, the radio announced that an ice age was coming and that everybody should stay calm. (That's usually when panic breaks out.)

So I logged on to the net to talk with a friend and called my folks. My friend was suddenly cut off, and my folks told me that there was a power outage over there in the whole country and snow is already falling and I should take care of myself and be careful and dress warm and stack up food, yadda yadda... and then the phone went dead too.

So I went to turn on the TV, and they showed snow on every channel, and I was wondering why it was still so sunny and warm over here. And then suddenly the power went out. I walked out into the main room, and I saw him sleeping on the couch, the air blowing through the high windows, blowing in the curtains, and as sunlight flickered as the curtain danced in the strong wind, snow blew in through the window.

I wonder if I should worry that the Matrix is malfunctioning, since I haven't seen Agent Elrond around... There goes my déja vu.

Quote day, again

"Lost in a dream...
Drowning in the eyes
Of a statue who dreamt a little dream of me...

Here begin the second lectures of darkness,
As Lucifer becomes the chalice of the night.
He drowns in the sea of his dreams...
... Him, whom the statue beholds.

But here there is no light."

Lényeg a lényeg, saját kreálmány. Nekem tetszik, és én csináltam. ^^

Too lazy to post these on the beading blog, because I'd have to stamp them... so... lookie, bracelets.

The first two are new.

*sigh*

Well, Obama just made our worries multiply. Thanks to him mentioning, actually likening our country to Ukraine, now our money is worth even less than it was yesterday. I don't know why he is singling us out, I mean why us? There are several countries in this region, why pick on us? Why further the ruin of our economy with announcing we are doing as badly as Ukraine?

Well, we don't. But now, thanks to this untrue, negative advertisement, we might. Soon. Thanks a bunch.

Yes, he probably meant well. Yes, he probably tried to help. But he mentioned Hungary next to Ukraine and not another country's name, and now it's our money that's losing its worth thanks to all the stupid, panicky people. So even if he meant well and wanted to help, he just fucked us over.

So... ouch. Next time, I wish he would try to think about dumb people misunderstanding things and try not saying anything negative about my country - pretty please. We are in deep enough shit without further outside influence, thanks.

Saving Luna

If you like animals, if you like documentaries and if you don't mind killer whales, you should watch Saving Luna.

It's not out in the movies yet. The creators are trying to get more channels to play it on TV, and Suzanne has been flying around the globe, promoting the movies that had already won many awards. 19 so far, I think. And going.

I had written a thesis about it for university while he was still alive, and I'm a bit sad I couldn't write about him for my final thesis. It would have been absolutely worth it. But then again, native American (Canadian) religion and spirituality sadly wasn't my major.

Anyway, here's the movie trailer, and you can go to Saving Luna's homepage and read about the little killer whale.

Oh and whoever killed him should be dealt by law. (Or shot in the head, whichever, I'm not picky, but would prefer the second option.) I mean a woman who touched Luna (everybody did btw) had been fined for 100 dollars, but the man who killed Luna got to walk away, no questions asked? Yep, that's bureaucracy for you.

Oh and yeah, I've watched the movie. Suzanne lent it to me. ^^ So I can say it's very nice.

Also, the shots of Nootka Sound (Vancouver Island) are just simply amazing. My personal favorites are the ones with the fog rolling over the hills and the water.

Here, some pictures taken from the Saving Lune homepage. (Although, sadly not with fog.)Oh and by the way... yay, post no. 300!

Not again

Why do men (ok, some men) pull this disappearing act of theirs?

I'm talking about when they just disappear altogether, without a note saying "I don't feel like anything so I'll be off the radar until I change my mind, have fun".

This drives me crazy every time. I hate it when people disappear without telling me the reason, and me being me usually means I worry too much about them and always suspect the worst.

And him driving a bike and all makes it more plausible. I mean what if now it's not just a broken arm? But then again I'm too meek to text message people until they've been gone for ages, mostly because I don't want to be called a worrier or a stalker, so...

So.

Floss, drop me a line if you read this, will you?

Ergo Proxy

Meh.

Seriously.

It's very beautiful. The artwork is pretty, really pretty.

The story is... sort of interesting, once all the bits reassert themselves in your head, but... you'll have to watch it a few times to get all of the bits.

Thing is, it's deep. Ok, the story is original for the usual anime, but I'm not sure I prefer it quite this deep. I don't like to go "HUH?!" at the end of an anime. I like a bit of mystery and suspense, but complete bafflement? No.

Also, the story was told in a haphazard way, dotted with filler-like episodes that made sense only after you've watched the anime till the end. There were dream sequences that lasted for a full episode each, and time loss, lots of time loss. Sometimes you were dropped into a situation in medias res, and were left with no ending or follow-up when the episode ended and the next one was already happening somewhere else, much, much later. *sigh*

There were some big words. French, mostly. Boring speeches, although those probably because you've got to have boring, long-winded speeches in anime, that are completely unrealistic. I got used to it. At least I had time to drink some tea and offer food for Manó. He likes dried fruit btw.

Over all, it was nice. The plot, when you finally piece it together and understand it (after a few watchings and talking it over with others), is pretty neat. Finally not the "bad guy comes and destroys all just because he had a sad past" or "vague / not so vague, but totally out of character entity gets revenge / gets reborn / wreaks havoc / saves his old gf / kills his best friend / etc" or even the usual "boy gets girl or vice versa" plot.

But I feel that over all it would have been more enjoyable if they didn't go to great lengths to bewilder the watchers with riddles, throw us off-kilter with filler-like riddles and annoy us with that "Q Q Q" guy. Man, my finger twitched on the fast forward button like hell when I watched that episode.

So... great anime it would be, were it not overly complicated to give it a more artistic feel. Simple doesn't always mean bad, you know. And this... even if made a bit simpler... it wouldn't be simple at all.

Lie To Me, Part Two

Still hooked. I've watched all episodes, and refrained from watching them again so I can watch them tomorrow.

I want more episodes. I want them now! I think it's like a drug. ><

I love Lie To Me. I really do. It's awesome.

Lie To Me

Lie To Me, that's the title of the new series I'm in love with. So far, only 4 episodes were aired and I've only seen one, but that one I loved.

It was a bit like House, a small bit like Monk and it is all about the human body language.

Well, mostly the body language, but still, it's all about observing how people react. So I'm utterly smitten, in love and just burning to watch the other 3 episodes, and waiting for ep5 in March.

If you like observing people, body language, wording and like a snide, a bit House-ish main characters, you might want to check this out.

Anyway, I've only watched ep2, so that's what I enjoyed so much at the moment, but... given enough time, I'll be excited about all of them.

Red Sauce on Pasta!

*cough* I mean This is Sparta!

I mean I've watched 300. Finally.

My impression: lots of reds and blues and browns. Whoa, bondage muscle-men with capes on...

Fast forward and slow motion scenes...

Lots of American emotional crap...

And hey, where the hell were the Spartan war-buddies fucking? (Sorry, I mean the well-known Spartan pederasty.) I mean that was a pretty well-known fact... a fact Americans omitted for half-naked girls dancing in delirium... and instead made the Spartans joke about Athens and boy-lovers... yeah right, idiots...

The oracle woman with the floating dress was any male's fantasy and... uh...

Hey, at least they used "Come back with your shield or on it." expression.

But otherwise... I think the guy who dreamed up and made the movie read only the cliff notes and had forgot to do his homework because boy... this is utterly stupid and just plain yuck.

This is NOT Sparta. This is indeed Madness. *sigh*

Now about the fighting scenes:

The Persians are obviously the bad guys, so they look like monsters, creeps and rabid gay men with freakish accessories. Why does Xerxes remind me of Aphophis of Stargate? Hmmm... well, you tell me.

Seriously, whoever decided on Xerxes' look... was definitely into pierced androgynous men. Sad, because I can't imagine the guy looking like that. I'm pretty sure he didn't look that freakshow-y, or made such loud clangy noises from all that assorted jewelry when moving. No, I don't think Xerxes would be into accessorizing quite that much. Ick.

Yay, rhino! Awww, cute! Awww, dead by one spear and one thrown spear alone. Like... hell.

More freaks. More monstrous creatures on, of course, the Persian side.

Xerxes is shown as someone icky and inhuman and stooopid. Like... killing his own generals because he's annyoed. Hmm. Why is it that only the good guys can be nice and understanding and mushy, even if said good guys are frikkin Spartans, who are the less mushy nation I can remember? *sigh*

Oh lookie, elephants! Oh lookie... poor things falling off cliffs because uh... just because.

And what the hell is with the little tight underwear of Spartans and no frikkin armor? Was this made for rabid females with muscle fetish or something? And seriously... do Spartans carry oils tucked in their underwear or something to oil their muscles between fights to stay so shiny? Eugh!

Oh, lookie, lots of head choppings. Lots. I mean it... In slow motion no less. Ick.

Why am I not surprised that the freak, the poor Spartan reject betrays them in the end? Predictable Hollywood crap.

Nope... I didn't like this.

The single most stupid line in the movie ever:

Leonidas: "For tonight we dine in hell!"

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't know why, you are a disgrace.
(Yup, hell was invented by Christians. Greek underworld is Hades. Congrats, American idiots. We never forget.)

And last but not least: the visuals of the wheat fields strongly reminded me of Gladiator, but when Lisa Gerrard's Now We Are Free started playing at the end of 300 (Gladiator Soundtrack) it made me laugh. Recycled look and soundtrack. Figures.

But hey, I like Lisa Gerrard's songs so for that they are forgiven... but it's still funny.

Potter naked... again

Ok, so... this convo we had with my friend... it was totally pointless.

It started with me photoshoping a picture for cheap laughs... But plenty. It was funny. We remarked that said guy who lost his pants had a "sumaru dikku", and my friend mentioned that Potter's was bigger.

I said if Potter's was bigger, I'm giving up on said guy.

But I didn't have Potter's nudie picture, so I had to google it up, and trust me, there are many without his dikku, so it took a while.

And while we were at it, my friend saw a newer picture... I guess even Potter has changed since he didn't have to perform in books in the spotlight....

So here it is, the new... *cough* improved Potter.

Meet Manó

Meet Manó, my adorable new chinchilla.

(Manó means... well, a list of things, like imp, elf, elfin, kobold, etc. Technically, I'd say manó is a small, cute woodland creature with an upturned nose and a mischievous character. Sort of like a leprechaun, only beardless.)

Her likes so far are: zooming around in her cage, chewing food, eating everything I feed her, jumping out in my hands and jumping back, climbing up on her cage and snuggling up in the new wooden house I got her.

Anyway, Manó wasn't my pick, she had been named by the owner of her family. I wanted to name her Loki or Ratatoskr, but then again, Manó suits her fine.

She's very curious, enthusiastic and quick. Also fluffy. So far, she's a young baby, so I hope I can train her to sit still on my shouler as Merlin did. She (so far) seems to be intelligent. We shall see if she carries on like this. ^^

Oh and by the way, one of her parents is a standard gray, the other a black velvet, so she is a darker gray with a very slight black stripe down her spine.

Repeat after me: awwwww!

Eye Of The Tiger

I laughed so hard I cried at this one.

And no, I'm not a die-hard Supernatural fan. I'm not even a fan of the main characters. I liked the nerd, who burned down in season one, and the mindreader ("these are not the droids you're looking for"), who was gutted also in season one.
Now I like the grumpy angel, Castiel. He's sort of cute, although I usually like guys from the other side, as they have cookies... (Although I have been known to drool over Chris Walker's Gabriel. That angel was... pretty nice to observe.)

But if I had to pick one from the brothers... I'd pick Dean. He's a dick and sometimes I have the urge to throttle him or kick him squarely in the jewels, but Sam'd drive me mad in minutes with all that angst and emo crap, which is much worse. *shrug*

Still... this was hilarious.

one of my fave quotes from American Gods

The raven cawed from the edge of the clearing.

“You want me to follow you?” asked Shadow. “Or has Timmy fallen down another well?” The bird cawed again, impatiently. Shadow started walking toward it. It waited until he was close, then flapped heavily into another tree, heading somewhat to the left of the way Shadow had originally been going.

“Hey,” said Shadow. “Huginn or Muninn, or whoever you are.”

The bird turned, head tipped, suspiciously, on one side, and it stared at him with bright eyes.

“Say ‘Nevermore,’ “ said Shadow.

“Fuck you,” said the raven. It said nothing else as they went through the woodland together.

We are experiencing some technical difficulties

Yesterday I got a shot against this year's flu strain. Now I'm still feeling like a troll sat on me. I still have a slight fever, foggy brain (contrary to general belief I do have a working one) and my arm (left arm, where I got the shot) hurts like a bitch and there is a hot patch of skin where I got the shot.

Owies.

Also, we have a family crisis. I'll be vague. We are all depressed, my mom's bitchy, my dad takes sedatives and I try to be as inconspicuous as possible. The problem is that we don't know anything certain. And no, I will not elaborate. I'm just... noting it because I feel like stones are pressing me down and I'm depressed and I don't wanna be.

So that's that.

A new record

Whoa. 9 hours of shopping... a new record. o.O

No, I haven't killed anyone, neither have I been killed... Although both my dad and I had books with us, so... We were able to pass the time productively. Although seriously... 9 hours!!! Holy coconut!

I also had lots of new clothes lined up for me, which was really, and I mean it, really pleasant, because I finally got the skirt of my dreams, although in a different colour. Well, who cares. It suits me just fine.

So... what did we buy? I shall write a "short" list.

  • Bead supplies. (I got into the whole mess because I begged my dad to drive me by car to this faraway shop, because I didn't feel like wasting 5 hours of my life just getting there and back...) So when the shop assistant told me they'll be raising their prices in a week, my mom told me to buiy everything I wanted, NOW. She also bought a load of beads, which I will have to work into art for her. *sigh* It's not really amusing using the old patterns and colours I dislike. Oh well.
I also got some much needed beading thread in colours, and some gunmetal grey, matte bugle beads. Never tried those, so I think I'll have fun with them next week.

  • My dream taffeta skirt, long and bell shaped, silver (although I always wanted a taffeta skirt in a deep green, but oh well) and the "frills" at the bottom sewn with silver thread in flowery and vine patterns. It's beautiful, really. I was so in love with it I couldn't leave it behind, not like I wanted to, mind. ^^

  • Jeans. In a faded grayish blue. I was into the gray ones and the faded teal-green ones, but they only had much bigger and much smaller. *sniffle* So blue jeans it is. Not like I'm complaining or anything.

  • A deep green skirt with lots of layers of some see-through material, every upper one shorter than the last. The longest layer reaches beyond my ankles. Good. It also looks good on me, although knee-high fuzzy blue socks are a no. Well, I didn't dress up for trying on fancy clothes, I dressed up for friggin cold and jeans and boots. Course the shop assistant had to make fun of me, but once I told her if she minds my presence, I could go, somewhere else. She decided to smile instead and stopped talking. Good.

  • A new umbrella. Mint green. Works fine, was cheap.

  • New case for glasses made of wood, covered in silk with oriental flower patterns. Also green and pretty.

  • A small lipstick holder box thingy, with a mirror. Also green, with floral patterns. (Leaves, mostly.)

I think I'm developing my own pattern here, don't you agree?

  • Random knicknacks, new shoelaces for my boots, a picture frame...

All right, I admit it, there was a sale and everything went for the same price, so I got the umbrella for the same price as the lipstick box with the mirror and all the other stuff. I also bought some earrings, some I will give away. Will keep the spirals. I am crazy about the spirals.
Well, that's about it, folks. And so far I survived, although now I need to kick the cat out. No, not animal torture, I'd only prefer if he went home and not begged for food from the neighbours (us). The little bugger...

Something wicked this way crawls

All right, you can call me crazy.

But something is coming. I feel it in my bones. Again, you can call me crazy, but things have been too quiet recently. It feels like the calm before the storm. You know that feeling... when everything goes utterly silent, nothing moves, the air gets heavy, electricity zaps you when you touch things, you feel a sort of pressure, your skin tingles, and then...

...and then everything explodes into motion as the wind picks up, starts really blowing and then the storm is upon you.

Of course, with storms you can usually tell by the heavy clouds, but here... here you only have that feeling and hear the silence and observe the complete lack of movement.

And man, I seriously don't want to be hit by lightning.

Decided to read some Bleach, because every time I look at the cage while sitting next to it or walking next to it hurts.

So...
  • Kenpachi is still damn sexy (and unhinged) as ever, check.

  • Crazy dude with scythe dead, check.

  • (Slain by Ken-chan, check. Yup, that guy still has it in him...)

  • Ulquiorra still being mysteriously emo, check. (It pisses me off, that guy.)

  • Gin's funny and cute as always, check.

  • Aizen's a creepy thing as usual, check.

  • Woohoo, new hot(meaning unhinged) guy fighting Kira, check.

  • Killed by Kira a few episodes later (a shame, really), check.

  • Gone blind because I saw a seriously ugly and overly muscled transvestite (I quote his battle cry: "Beautiful Charlotte Coolhorn's miracle sweet ultra funky fantastic dramatic romantic sadistic erotic exotic athletic... guillotine attack!" *retching noises*) in some hideously low-cut pants and tiara, check.

  • And then he transforms into... see picture for reference.
Blind yet? I sure am.

Rest in peace.

I had one wicked dream

Story goes:

We were going to crash a wedding. I was going with the guy who was the real groom, and the bride's one true love - until he got tricked by her evil stepmom and her "uncle", and now the "uncle" was the groom, although he was a monster, really. A shapeshifter actually.

Anyway, we went in as guests invited by the groom, and the real groom dressed up as a woman. The uncle took one look at him and was smitten. I think he knew the groom was a tranny. Heheh. Also, it was a masked ball. It was the day before the wedding, some sort of silly celebration. Tradition, really. It was really highclass, and pretty scary too, felt like Halloween.

The uncle, since he had a crush on the groom, let us in. We went to the upper level to hang out with "the monsters". The groom's partner was a zombie, (intelligent, but ugly) and mine was a guy who turned into a glass skeleton in the moonlight. I think I saw too many crystal skull films. (Maybe on Discovery? Oh well.) Anyway, my partner was the skeleton.

Sometime later that evening, the uncle started playing Thriller (never saw the clip, but I made my necro dance too many times...), and as it began playing, and the lights were turned off and moonlight streamed in and nearly all the monsters changed to their monsterly appearance and danced to it in perfect sync.

It was almost scary how utterly silent they were as they gracefully swept through the dance. I saw some of their glowing eyes and some leathery skin, and I felt a chill, like I was standing in a desolate graveyard, a haunted one and witnessed something I shouldn't have. I reclined against a pillar to remind me where I actually was.

Anyway, after this the monsters started to speak one by one, giving a speech about how they got ignored, hunted and how there are less and less of them. And each of them complained that they are hungry, and they stepped out one by one onto the railing of the inner balcony and looked down to pick someone they would eat.

The vampire (I think he looked pretty much like the vampire from Brooklyn) started talking fairly early, and then it looked at me and came closer, even though I sat with the monsters. (Why I sat with the monsters in a pure white dress and white sandals and with a white shawl on my shoulders, I had no idea.) I watched him, scared out of my wits for a moment, utterly terrified and riveted, but in a milisecond I wasn't scared anymore. I knew I wasn't supposed to be. So I looked up at him incredulously and wved him off with a "Oh, just go away.", that worked quite well.

But then rain came, and I whipped my pristine white shawl over my head and ran like hell, chanting "I'm gonna melt, I'm gonna melt!"

Well, that answered my question.

Anyway, dunno how it could rain inside a building, maybe it was a garden for all I knew, or... dunno (it was a castle btw), but everyone tried to run to safety. I ran to the stairs, the staircase was really wide with a stripe of a railing running up it, with empty space under it, so I ran under the empty space and sat under the wide, wooden railing. I didn't melt, luckily.

And then I saw the bride's little (not that little actually, he had a deep voice, which is all I know) brother, who was hiding and reading under one of the side railings next to the wall, which was wide enough only to cover him, but he seemed to have been hiding there for a long while now. He was also reading avidly, ignoring the party and the freakout of the rain. He also sat next to me and when I heard his voice so close I jumped down a few stairs, utterly scared that he would see me.

I realized just then that I came for him, although I had no idea who he was... I think. I guess I came to kidnap the little brother while the real groom snatched the bride to safety, whatever.

I was just about to declare to him I came to save him, when the stepmom came strolling up the stairs with some pompous older woman, complaining about all these rowdy partygoers, who were apparently all invited by the groom (uncle, and theyx were the monsters), who were all obviously left wingers. I had to slep my hands over my mouth to stop myself from laughing so hard and loud.

And then they went up and I turned to the little brother... and then I got woken up by the phone, godsdamnit.

You can all take one guess who I was supposed to be. In the comments please, not on msn.

Dissing Fate Stay Night Part 2

Ok, I know I'm talking about an anime, and anime tend to be absolute rubbish with made-up stupid foreigner names and utterly stupid things stolen and thrown in for fun for Japanese who obviously have no idea what they are talking about...

But this is so bad I just have to go on with the list. It is sort of hilarious... Too bad it pisses me off. So...

  • Our knight lady is actually called Arthuria. She's also a King. Well, I've always wondered about Arthur and Lancelot, but still, if she's Arthuria, what the hell is going on with Ginevere? And who fathered Mordred if both Arthuria and Morgause (Arthur's sister) are female? Hmmm... I wonder. No, I really don't wanna know.

  • Oh, and our noble King, who is a lady knight, who is a frikkin woman, for the gods' sake, is a dragon as well. Uh-huh. Of course. Because the knights of the roundtable love dragons... Suuuure.

  • Then, they introduce the plot twist: we need to have sex to defeat the bad guys. Actually, one girl attacks the hero and then attacks the lady knight. Yup, because threesomes are awesome and they save the world. (Kinda makes me wonder about Future Peter and Future Hiro and Present Peter... *blush* Hold on... that's two Peters and two more Peters than I'm usually interested in so let's switch Present Peter with anyone else... Like... Daphne. They need at least one girl, no? Too bad Angela is related and too old anyway...)

  • The archer guy. Servant. Summoned little pet, or whatever. I'll post a picture. First time I saw him I knew he reminded me of someone. Doesn't it remind you of someone? Seriously.

    Just take a looooong look.

And... I seriously prefer Mr Stampede, tyvm.

  • Anyway, the archer guy's special power seems to be the ability to massacre the English language and utter phrases in this butchered English that makes me cry laughing. Oh, and he also utters a lot of nonsense and certain sayings that rattle of dust.

So far, that's it. Will add more as it goes on. I mean it's a goldmine.

Thanks to my darling chinchilla being a total idiot, I have now been properly acquainted with chinchilla penises.

Why, you ask? Well, this idiot had clogged his weewee with something, probably a mix of bathing dust and his own poo. It was dragging after him, and he had been way too amiable recently so I knew he was sick. Well, his wee-wee couldn't be retracted properly, like it should have been, and it was big and well... a greyish shade of purple. Ewww.

Since my mom got home early, thanks to the thick ice coating the streets (her boss actually sent her and her coworkers all home because paying for the injuries would have cost more), we had ample opportunity to scrutinize poor Merlin's privates and try to figure out what to do.

Obviously, Merlin would have frozen before we got to the doctor, so that was a bad idea. (Not to mention the doc still hasn't gotten back to me with his fur shedding problem after a whole fucking year, although I'm thinking it's probably depression.) So we cleaned off the fur ring, and tried to get that clogging out. We used olive oil on the fur ring and then soapy water to melt the clogging, but the water didn't help, neither did the soap.

By that time we all had touched poor Merlin's weewee, who took it rather stoically, the poor sod. We put him back after a while and studied up on the net and tried to come up with ideas.

That's when I decided we were utter perverts, because I suggested smearing jam over his weewee, so he'll clean himself, like he is supposed to. I mean he loves jam, so... why not?

My mom suggested hanging his weewee into a small cup of wine. We did the latter after my dad came home and told us we need to help the poor sod, asap. So we took off an old perfume bottle's cap, cleaned it, filled it with wine (it wasn't much, really, before someone gets a heart attack, and not the best wine either), and stuck his weewee in. Then, after a while we both took turns in trying to take out the clog (realizing in the middle, that he was able to piss, but not retract his equipment), and then, after a bit of clean up, we stuck it back into the wine. It nearly perfectly retracted, so now we put the poor sod back to his cage to clean himself.

We might rinse, repeat the wine process later on.

Lesson to be learned: don't clog up your penis or you'll get your dick stuck in wine.... or jam. :P

Dissing Fate Stay Night

What the title says. And blergh. Braaainsss!

I thought maybe after a few months I could start watching anime again. The Bleach fillers scared me away and I couldn't find anything I liked.
I thought maybe this time I'd found something a bit interesting. And then I started watching. My first reaction: Ye gods!
  • The plot so far is mediocre at best. 7 mages are fighting for the possession of the Holy Grail. The grail picks them to fight each other for it. Yeah, because the Holy Grail needs a massacre. And the Grail picks lotsa twisted and evil people and like... one good guy. Uh-huh.

  • Our main hero is a Mary Stue. Everybody loves him, girls fall for him at every turn. He is a goody two shoes who want to save everyone and he has a sad, sad past. (The last "Holy Grail War", which was about 10 years ago wiped a whole city, and he was the lone survivor. Sad, sad. He was adopted by a magician. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the adoptive dad's fault the town got wiped btw.)

  • Our main hero believes girls shouldn't fight, because they injure themselves and girls should stay pretty and in the kitchen, protected by men. I hate that guy, ok?

  • I cackled up when one of the summoned fighters (each mage summons a fighter, it's in the rules that the fighter fights for their mage who summoned them) called his lance Gáe Bulg! Well... it sounded a bit different, after all they were speaking Japanese... but seriously...
So... Gáe Bulg. The wielder was once called Lancelot, although it might have been just his profession mis-pronounced. But... should I even mention that Gáe Bulg belongs to Cúculainn and NOT Lancelot? *sigh* Wrong fucking nationality, geniuses!

  • But let's go on. Insane guy can be pointed out by his shady look, even from the opening. No surprise there.

  • Knife-licking insane, demonic (or maybe demonic) chick, check. With long, gravity-defying spidery hair, check. Who also wears a skintight miniskirt and loves to crawl on objects Dracula-style (head down, backside up), check. Who has a dangerously low-cut top without anything suspending her boobies that are as big as mine (like F-cup), check. Antigravity boobies rule, no? Wish I had a pair of those.

  • Adorable little girl, who is really cracked and insane and has blood red eyes and a huuuge monster: check.

  • Huge monster called Berserker, who's really Heracles... that is when I felt this thing was utterly, utterly stupid, and I was so very sorry that nobody ever cares about getting any, or even one single little fact right.

  • Girl, who's really a knight and nobody, nobody ever said she can't be a knight, check.

  • *whimper* She's wielding the Excalibur! *hysterical sobbing* (I remember chanting "don't say Excalibur, if you say Excalibur I'm going to scream", but she called her sword Excalibur anyway, while she offed a Pegasus.) Besides the fact that the Excalibur rests with the Lady of the Lake, who is no friggin knight, there are no female knights of that period. Not sure about later but I haven't heard of female knights so far. And... the Excalibur, for the gods' sake! Will the pain ever stop?
Well, so far, this is it, and I'm only halfway through this insanity. Good gods, please spare me.

Falling out of love feels like a bitch. (NO, I don't want to get into a relationship now, thanks.)

That said... on a happier note: I decided to get my room in order. I'll throw out all the junk and organize some stacks of the lesser used books I'll get to my flat once the smog clears. Because yes, besides having issues with the Russia and the gas, we also have a smog problem... some kind of natural phenomenon not letting the smoggy air clear out... but there'll be wind and snow in a few days and that'll clear it out, or so I was told.

Whatever happens, I need to clean my room of the junk I've been storing for ages. I'll throw out not-used old items and old bags that look pretty but can't be used anymore because getting them fixed costs more than getting a new, prettier one. Nuff siad. Sentimental stuff may or may not stay, because they are mostly the plush toys... But we shall see. It all depends.

There is a cavern beneath the world. aka The Man. The Woman. The Snake. The Bowl.

Some hardcore Sandman fans might have already realized who I'm going to talk about. Or maybe some people who like Norse mythology.

Last night I've read Season of Mists, and I've had some pretty interesting dreams afterwards (taking a long stroll in the cavern beneath the world), and woke up still in the dark. And then I had to read certain parts of American Gods, because I couldn't remember, and because he was in it...

So... take your three guesses, because I'm going to post a picture. ^^

So... yeah, this guy.

I always had a soft spot for trickster gods. They tend to be adorable and cunning. I also remember, during the exam of... well, it was either Celtic Mythology/History or Viking History/Mythology, because the teacher was the same and the oral parts of the two exams were pretty much overlapping...

So, I remember that during the exam I was supposed to talk about the books I've read. You had to read 3 shorter books, 3 long studies or one looong book for each exam, by the way. And I picked the Edda, because that was long enough, and I was, still am a sucker for mythology. And in the end, she asked me which god I liked best from the whole of Edda.

I said Loki without thinking, right off the bat. There was no competition. I mean Loki, the god of chaos, change, the trickster, someone who had so many sides none of the other gods did (and a very clever head on his shoulders), is still my favourite. Of course he is usually associated with winter, and I wouldn't say he is that benevolent (actually he will take part in Ragnarök, fighting on the side of Jötunn, but let's not go there), but hey, he's still cute.

Uhm... that's about it.

New hairdo. The stripes got too wide, but I had to do them alone and I was tired from dying the rest red, so I'm happy with what I have now.

I think it's not too bad either.Oh and before you complain, I froze while waiting for the dye to work so yeah, I was pretty frozen at that point.

On the other hand, I managed to scratch a deep red line on my nose while asleep. Ouch. But it'll heal.
