Droid update 001

These few days have been... depressing.

And I haven't even glimpsed Sylar/Smith until today, and even that was only a glimpse. I hope it was him, actually, because that kept me going all day.

And no, I could not stop to make sure unless I wanted to get a few weird stares and be nicknamed the weird chick from A&S.

Introducing myself at a proper moment will have to wait.

(God, I hope it wasn't him who quit last week.)

Also, there is a guy who kinda looks like him, except he is not as sexy and well dressed.

About work: meh. A coworker just told me not to write so many letters because she was told off that the new hires write more letters than her. Well. Sorry that I am trying to keep my job?

Also, asshole number one found me and chewed me out today (the message was sent at 6:07... I arrived at 14:00) because I routed a letter to him (and his group). Why? Because he forgot to write clear instructions and I had nobody to ask yesterday to clear em up for me.

I said sorry, smiled and made a note. Also... frikkin asshole, eat concrete with passion!!!

Now that's better. :)

Oh and to buy list for weekend and next week:
  • jeans
  • socks
  • plain long sleeved shirts with medium neckline
  • NIN T-shirt
  • something sexy in regards of second layer, be it a pullover or s coat... up to chance
  • bra (these things don't last for long... I blame the cup size)

Gwrblargh, brain freeze

Buggy system, buggy system.

First they shut down the damn system (after I could not log in for half an hour) then it kicks me out. Well, we all got kicked out. Then it froze on me again a couple of times.

I had a letter that took about 30 mins or more to answer, only to have the frikkin software freeze on me when I wanted to hit send.

I took a screenshot, sent it to another agent, killed the program, restarted it, nabbed the letter from the general pool and typed my reply in from the screenshot. Am I amazing or what?

Still... Sylar/Smith was not in today. Boo. I miss him. He is so hot.

And I even built up my courage to walk up to him and introduce myself. Meh.

One of these days, one of these days...

Who knows? There may be a one in a million chance that I am his type after all. And that he is mine.

hey weekend, bye weekend

I have bought some pashmina scarves for work and a sarong.

I planted 10 plants on Tuesday (Sunday for me) and wore the sarong. I totally forgot about the strength of the May sun. Guess what? My back aches because it is lobster red.

Also, some damned bug started chomping on me. I had acquired 6 bug bites on my back. Owies. I will get some bug repellent and not leave the windows open after dark. Grrrr.

Omgthatwaslong

Worked all days this week. Did overtime as well yesterday. I was really sick by Friday, hopefully am getting better today... tonight.

I am sorta friends with our dreadlocked Legolas, who has the prettiest blue eyes on our floor.

We are still staring at each other with Sylar, although today when he stared I raised my eyebrows by reflex. He looked away as if caught... staring. Ouch. Yup, I'm an idiot.

But still the whole staring thing will get old and fast, I will prolly try to get him alone and then introduce myself. I will most probably make a fool out of myself and or fuck it up royally...

Yeah and now I just made me cringe. Maybe I shouldn't after all.

But this is the new and improved me, smiling and friendly and all, so I will not fail. I will also not do my usual "walk up to guy, stick out my hand and say my name only" routine.

Works like a charm on certain kinds of guys (I mean my usual strike zone) but not on this one. I mean pressed suit, hair slicked back, stylish, yet ruggedly handsome... Yeah. Way out of my liege.

But hey. If you don't try...

My only concern is that he is my colleague and I really don't want my workplace buddies to laugh their asses off at me if I fuck it up royally.

Sigh.

I'm NOT ok

And the last of my general update...

Doc visit. He of course refused to divulge any important details about my bloodwork. He suggested I come during his private practice hours. I suggested I was here now and I had yet not been paid to spend way too much for services I am entitled to for free.

At the end I had to beg him to feel my neck. Guess what? He found a "lump"! Gasp!! Who would have thought?

His reaction: Oh, dear! Doesn't it hurt?

My reaction: well yes, this is why I came, actually.

I had to beg him to find what was wrong with me!!

His comment: well, it's not causing the weight gain.

Duh. I have lost 4kg so far this month. Care to guess where I want him to shove it?

And then I had to go and get an appointment for a neck ultrasound. The assistant was chatting with some woman so after 5 minutes I asked nicely if she could maybe give me an appointment while chatting. They both looked at me like I murdered someone and the assistant told me she couldn't give me an appointment because there were none (wtf??) and that I need to go to *insert faraway address here*.

I'll have to call tomorrow or go back in tomorrow and get an appointment.

And damn right I cursed the bitch.

Bottom line: either a tumor or goitre.

Fuck.

Just my luck

Second part of the update.

Last week I was running to my bus stop and there was a guy lying on the ground, someone has already called the ambulance and a bit after I arrived there the ambulance arrived. But then the bus arrived too so I did not wait to see what would happen.

Yesterday I was on my way home, it was about 22:30 when I got off of the tram and lo and behold, another guy lying on the ground, someone already called an ambulance and just as I walked over to the other side of the street to go to my bus stop (that would get me home) the ambulance arrived.

It really wasn't like this when I imagined guys tripping over themselves and falling flat on their faces in their haste to adore me. :P

And talking about men...

Yesterday I had my chance ogling that guy, who I think looks like a young and more handsome Agent Smith.

He has a bit of Sylar in him too.

Yup. When we little hobbits got transferred to Middle Earth, I ended up sitting facing him. His computer and my were back to back. Not sure me chatting with a... well... not exactly unattractive guy and he adoring me made him like me if at all, but hey.

(My new hire PC mate, because we didn't have enough computers and had to share. He nearly smooched me when I agreed to cover for him when he wanted to leave an hour earlier, because I was staying till 22:00 anyway. He almost smooched me! I'm not kidding! I almost jumped through the roof.)

And yes.

Smith/Sylar is hot.

And of course our Middle Earth has a Legolas too. He is the legendary guy who sent out 300 letters in 8 hours once when he got pissed with the lost password letters.

He looks like a young Will Turner... with dreadlocks. He is hot. Not really my type. But hot nonetheless. I know someone who would be totally over him. Of course he is way too young.

But Agent Smith/Sylar? Waaaay out of my liege. Sadly. But my, he is hot.

Oh and also, the two hot guys from my university are also there. The hot tech guy I might have blogged about? The blond one. My, but he has grown... and yeah, he is still very yummy. (If I remember correctly, he was pretty but... uhm... a bit dumb. But a very nice guy.)

And the brown haired one? Still as much of an asshole as he is hot. He turned away from me first, when I wanted to ask if he was indeed who I thought he was, so I turned my nose up and refused to look back when he stared at me later. From his half-smile I know he recognized me. But I shall not give him the chance to be an asshole to me again. His personality sucks. Period. And it doesn't pique my interest. So that shall tell you folks something, because I usually like annoying, prideful (brain worth the pride ofc) jerks.

And I want Smith. He is hot. And those lips... I wonder why he dresses so smartly. There is no dress code...

And today he caught me staring. He stared back. Twice. ^^ I'm hoping he will come and ask me why I'm staring so much. (I'll prolly tell him he looks like Sylar and Agent Smith's love child.)

Oh and to anyone who is worried about my love life: don't. I'm not gonna get a bf from there. I'm way too twisted and antisocial for that to ever happen. Not to mention I value my free time. I'm just staring a lot and enjoying the view. :P

General update

There are so many things I need to blog. I shall break it down to 3 parts or so.

Like that we got banished to Middle Earth, as our older members, trainers, whoever like to call it. We work in a huge, L shaped room. Well, it's a mirrored L, but whatever. We work in the end, we who deal with general support emails.

Middle Earth houses the tech guys (who get all kinds of shit forwarded to them and they always send it back to us, oh joy), the chat guys, who seem to be permanently stuck on fast forward and whatever they might be smoking, I want some too.

So... New letter handling system, total chaos, the bosses are at each others' throat and we, poor little general supporters, got stuck with about 5 PCs and 1200 letters a day. Let me tell you, the new system sucks and is slow and we sure as hell can't handle this.

It's total chaos. Today I did nothing but sit with 4 otehr new hires at ONE frikkin PC and we solved some letter, routed and well... generally did stuff.

Since I finished work at 22:00 yesterday and started today at 8:00 sharp, I was deadly tired (think I got 5 hours of sleep or so). So I told the guys to poke me if someone was coming or if I was snoring

From noon till 1 in the afternoon I remember almost nothing. :D

And before noon I snuck out to get my watch fixed, which took about 20-30 minutes, but still. Sometimes it rocks. But mostly it's pure stress and I really really am not gonna pull another almost non-sleeper again anytime soon.

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Hello, weekend. Bye, weekend.

So far, my time was spent chatting with the aunt I hate. I had to. Family event. On the weekend I waited so much to have.

Then I fainted into bed and had some much needed sleep.

And now I'm crying like a little girl because two people bailed on me from going to the huge yearly Plant fest that's not all about plants. I have been planning this for two weeks now. I have been looking forward to this for weeks!

My mom bails on me after weeks of planning, because my aunt asked her to go to a museum with her instead. My friend bails on me because of the entry fee.

Thanks. If I knew this, I would have invited one of my coworkers to have some fun together.

I was so looking forward to this weekend and now I would have to go alone! Where is the fun in that? Where?!

I have been working without complaints, dressing up like an Eskimo to ward off the fucking AC, fainting into bed each night, counting the days till the Plant fest. Thanks a bunch folks, really.

Make my day, will you?

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Second day in the pits, as I affectionately call the second floor, the place I work at the moment.

I couldn't document my very first day, because I quite literally fainted into bed last night. I slept a not even remotely sound 9 hours. Ever since I started this job I have been unable to sleep soundly. I wake up every now and then, dream a lot of little pieces, like a broken kaleidoscope. I usually run, hide or have work related problems that I have to solve, or else...

Anyway, I love the AC, I really do. When the sun shines on the building, the AC dies and it's hot. When the sun doth not shine and it's cold outside, the AC is on full blast and we freeze to death.

The customers can't spell or tell us what exactly their problem is. It's like they forgot their brain in the other car or something.

Today I got 2 fuck you letters. The idiot forgot to check his subscription for a number and of course it has expired long ago and already belonged to someone else. Then he has harassed the woman who had it so she offered to give it up for him... but due to company policy we could not hand it back just like that. Why? Because people would use this to abuse this and pose as the person who just stopped using said number.

But of course our asshole does not have a brain and can't understand this. Sometimes I wish I could write in plain English and tell assholes like that bluntly why we do what we do.

Course I would love to tell him where to stick it too, but oh well.

Otherwise... yay. I'm alive currently.

Soooooooo....

I have lost a total of 3,5kg in the last 2,5 weeks, that I will indubitably gain back during the weekend when I don't have to run around, stressed out like a poisoned mouse. But I hope I will get back to losing weight come next week. The stress I can live without...

I have gone on Thursday, actually, and had my arms waxed, something I never had done before. The hair on my arms was getting annoying, so... bye bye hair.

I wouldn't lie, it hurt. But I didn't scream as I told the beautician I probably would. I only hissed a little. But in the middle my tears started to fall. I was grinning and chatting with the woman and then my crocodile tears began to fall out of the blue. Oh well. Who cares. I'll be back getting tortured in a month or so. ^^

I have also passed 3/4 of the new hire tests. I'm still waiting to see the results for the last one, and I hope... We shall see.

What else? Oh yeah, I'm starting to wear beaded jewelry instead of gemstones and silver. Not because I look cooler... I don't know if I do, but because I just don't feel like gemstones and silver anymore. Doesn't go well with my aura, you could say. :P

I'm still trying to get the hang of this job (it'll take me months to get up to speed and efficiency, as they have already told me), and I hope I will manage to. Ok, I admit it, I'm totally freaked out. But I will try hard to do my best.

Weird and weirder

So... I'm still mostly alive and kicking, although people meeting me in the morning might tell a different story. Some say I look like a zombie. I guess I do. I still refuse to drink coffee, because I do not fancy yet another addiction. (Chocolate is more than enough, and I am trying to keep away from the stuff.)

Still, today a hot guy tried to flirt with me (only smiling and looking, as he was a bit far away) and I ignored him... and realized later he was trying to flirt. *facepalm* Higher brain functions: zero. Booo!

Tomorrow I shall try again, because he is... hot. Formal wear, cashmere coat, looks a bit like Agent Smith, only younger and more handsome. And hey, a little bit of flirting usually doesn't hurt.

Anyway. Here comes the weird stuff.

And I think I should maybe feel ashamed, because I keep listening to music most of my friends would throw up over. You want a list?
  • Savage Garden (mostly "I Want You" and "To The Moon and Back" ...and others) (ok, I do sorta feel ashamed... I was in high school when it was still kinda cool... only among girls tho)
  • Muse - Supermassive Blackhole (yes, the Twilight baseball music)
  • Mutemath - Spotlight (another Twilight music *sigh*)
  • Black Ghosts - Full Moon (yes! Twilight music!! *facepalm*)
  • Jonatha Brooke - What You Don't Know, aka the Dollhouse theme
  • Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous Girl (don't ask)
I am still wondering what hit me. Although I do listen to my fair share of Morcheeba, and I am NOT ashamed of listening to Aimee Mann's Pavlov's Bell.

Still. What the hell hit me?

If you have any idea, poke me.

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Stand still
This time
Close the door
For a moment you are mine

A free day, finally. I can get lazy, lean back, get comfy in my leather armchair, listen to Morcheeba and generally laze about for a bit.

I can also think about certain things. Like would a guy miles and miles and miles away suggest doing the horizontal tango and mean it? If yes, it might result in a summer vacation spent abroad.

But these things can wait, because really, it's my free day and I have already done my patriotic duty and have voted and now I'm just sitting about doing lazy stuff.

Oh and I have already washed my hair too and now it smells like bergamot and apples. Still smells faintly like the perm water, but it's not a bad smell at all. Also, I think my hair is really short this time. But I like it. Suits me just fine.

So it's just jazz (ok, maybe trip-hop), my comfy chair, the scent of bergamot and apples and random thoughts. Rawrrr. Lazyness has its time and place... but it rocks.

Your fortune cookie for today: do something different!

So. My test that I did yesterday was 99%. I forgot to cross out one thing because the girls next to me kept pestering me for answers.

Oh woe me!

Who am I kidding? I have a shit eating grin on my face!
Wrote another test today. I have my fingers crossed.

So... during the dinner break we had lunch with a few of the girls (actually, 2 others) and we used another elevator... and ended up in an unused part of floor 3. It was totally cool. We explored and walked through the glass corridor separating the two parts of the building. We could see through the floor of the glass corridor, which was one level above a little garden with rocks and plants in it and looks totally delicious. Obviously, people are strictly prohibited to walk in that small garden. But it still rocks. It is so pretty!!

And the sun was filtering through the glass walls and I just sort of got totally energized. It was sooo cool!

Oh by the way, we didn't have enough breaks, but I still could meet up with my friend who already works there.

And my team leader is totally cute. Well... not my team leader, per say, but he miiiiight be ours. And he is kind and cute and awesome. He remembers me and always smiles at me. I re~ally like him. In the platonic sense.

And people are nice and kind and don't kick me when I have questions. Granted, they also have bad days, but they are still decent. At least you don't need to smile all the time and backstab. It's so cool!

And yeah, I went to the hairdresser, who chopped off my hair, so it's short again and curly and I am so so so... hyper! I didn't drink or smoke anything, honest!!

Yeah. It's the weekend. Woohoooo, baby! ^^

I want my life back!!

I'm so frikkin wiped it's impossible!

I mean really. I am in there for 8 hours, travel 1 hour to my workplace, travel back another hour and I need an hour to jumpstart my brain and get dressed, get my stuff together, the works.

And then I am home, I make tomorrow's sandwiches and study. And I don't have a frikkin moment to live my life!!!

Yeah, I guess the studying period will pass, but I am really really really tired and I can't get more than 8 hours of sleep because it's impossible. I need a shower every time I get home and I need to wash my hair (usually every day) because I just feel so goddamn dirty. (Especially today, when they threw us in the pits. As in the place agents do their work, agents like us two weeks from now. It's hot and there is almost no oxygen and it stinks like sweat and yesterday's dinner.)

And my head hurts, I haven't done anything today besides work and study and shower and I don't know how people can manage to have a life too or read a book, watch a movie or even exist!

Tell me: how can you pull it off?! HOW?!

about geeks

I've started watching Bones, because it calms me down. Not the "omg, gotta watch it" kind of way, but the "oh, something's on TV" way. And of course I was wondering if Angel was as much of a pouf as he used to be. Well... his way of acting hasn't changed much. He still plays the same kind of men. Eugh.

But anyway, I wanted to talk about the guy who talks about bugs and geeks away in his lab. He is a Geek. With a capital letter. (See picture above.)

And then... he takes off his clothes.

I don't think many geeks look so shaggable with no clothes on (well with a towel on).

Still. Whoa. I didn't see that one coming.

Uncle!!

The new hire training sucks when they are unable or don't care to switch off the air con. I already have caught a cold and I think I also got a nice sinusitis coming on.

No, I do have a budding sinusitis. My head is splitting open and my nose cavities are full. My eyes are grainy and ... well, you know the drill.

I have complained to a woman who was our teacher for the afternoon, but she couldn't do anything.

I am at a loss as to what to do besides complain again on Tuesday. What else can I do so as not to end up in a frikkin hospital??

in the middle of dunno

I am sick. My throat is sore.

My teacher dances (hip-hop) he is the sort of gel-haired douche kind of person that gives me the creeps and he doesn't know much. He knows we don't click. I see it in his eyes.

There are two guys who come from the same university I did. They are both strongly right-wing and kinda creepy. The one who studied history badmouthed every teacher I held dear during my university years... and the teachers I hated as well. But I don't really have anybody else to talk to.

My teacher announced that by 4 in the afternoon everybody is zombified, so we should start our training every day at 8 in the morning. I hope he gets fucked sideways by a very aggressive, very bulky gorilla. Twice. No, thrice.

I bet he never heard about the difference between morning persons and definitely NOT morning persons.

To top it all off there is some sort of ventilation in our room that we are bunched in for the training and the cold air blew on me and now I also sneeze and can't stop blowing my nose.

So far I have not been handled any kind of paper stating I work there, I have not been told how many breaks I will be allowed to have during my shift and generally nobody told me anything about my work besides the thing we do support for. I am not naming it for obvious reasons.

I somehow want to know facts, I wanna get healthy and not to catch another frikkin cold tyvm and generally just be with people who don't badmouth the people I like and don't judge me because of my political views.

I hope tomorrow will go smoothly.

Also, I have lost my plush key-chain toy thingy, a cute green worm. He has been with me to London. I am very sad. The HR girl, who seemed really morose throughout the interviews walked me through both levels and asked people if they saw it. Somehow that cheered me up. She was so kind and it shocked me. Others have told me she was really rude... but she wasn't. I kinda like her for being so nice and friendly. It cheered me up.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

...ouch

Ho-hum.

I'm getting better. Not by much, mind. Just a little bit. My sore throat is killing me, but at least the toilet ceased to be a torture chamber.

And tomorrow I shall begin working. I'm already dreading it. I hope it's not as scary as I think it will be. Whine.

And yes, I would write more, but I'm dead tired.

Feel the pain

I signed the papers today, I'm officially a gal with a job. I'll be a slave of customer care again, but they'll pay me. For now this will have to do.

Why don't I care at the moment?

I guess it has to do with the fact that I have barely slept 3 hours, am peeing blood and I spent today signing papers, afraid that I would have to run to the toilet to my utter humiliation (luckily I found some meds and took them and they made it a little bit less unbearable), and then I spent the rest of my day (one of my 3 last free days!!!) at the doc, trying to pee into a little glass tube.

Since I'm not a guy and because of my illness I could hardly get any in. And they made me re-pee into another tube again. And again. It was a smelly, dirty bathroom and it hurt to pee (again, side effect of the illness) and I seriously wanted to do other stuff while I could. No luck.

So I come home and my mom calls and tells me I'm not sick, I will go and work on the 1st of April without any problems and so and so.

Have I mentioned that the glass tube I filled had its results already? My white cell count was high and other stuff were bad too because the nurse who gave me the results sent me back to the doc asap. So now I will have to fill another tube next Thursday and bring it to the doc, BEFORE work, EARLY FUCKING MORNING!!

But no, my mom tells me I'm not sick. So I'm having my nervous breakdown here, because apparently my folks don't care shit about me. Not even to say anything nice. No, my mom had to be patronizing and say I'm not sick at all. (Does she think I enjoy being sick? Does she think I love spending prefious free hours trying to piss into glass tubes when it causes me excruciating pain? Trust me, I don't want to be sick. I want to be healthy, enjoy the sunshine, go shop for the stuff I definitely will need and sleep while I can.)

And I just hate to be sick, hate to be tired, I hate to spend so much time at the doc where they think I have nothing else to do but retake tests, because my free time is theirs to spend. And I still haven't had a chance to buy shampoo (my bottle is empty), a 1 liter bottle for work to bring tea with and a little bag to keep my phone - and other stuff I do not want to get stolen - in at work.

Instead I will have to stay in bed tomorrow, take the meds and waste precious free time.

So what's so hard about saying "Yeah, this sucks, you have bad luck. You have every right to be hysterical. But don't worry, it'll be all right. You can take time off if you are sick, but you will heal by Thursday. Everything will be fine. Just take your meds, have a good night's rest and you will have time for yourself later. Not now, and I know this sucks, but you will. Everything will be fine."?

Because this is what I want to hear to calm down.

But nobody ever cares.

We don't sleep with George?

So... I got the Gray's Anatomy DVDs for someone I know, but before I pass them on I took a peek to see what all that excitement was about.

And I started watching Gray's Anatomy.

Yeah. Shame on me and all that. Yeah, I get it, let's move on.

So... The soap operaness is somewhat annoying after the first season, McDreamy is really not that attractive (I prefer Alex, tyvm), the blond underwear model is seriously getting on my nerves and honestly, the only person I really like is Christina, the cutthroat, sarcastic no-nonsense person.

Still... George is kind of cute. In the sweet, innocent cuddly puppy way. And I don't get it, why don't we sleep with George? I mean sure, I get it, he is not the macho guy or the hurt heartthrob (why is Shepherd a heartthrob again?), but he is of the caring sort who is cuddlesome and entertaining. Yeah, he prolly wouldn't be my first or second pick, but it's not a tragedy to sleep with him.

And he is kinda cute. And fluffy.

I'd sleep with George if I were there, no problem. These women are idiots. Sex is good. George is cute and enthusiastic. Do the math.

Illegal flower tribute

Seriously... this is so sick. (link to wiki about the illegal flower tribute)

*facepalm*

Why oh why didn't I hear about this before? This is seriously hilarious! (And sick too...)

...blergh

Job fairs are a mixed blessing. ...who am I kidding? I hated today!

Well, there are certain job fairs I hate, because somehow it's stuffy and the fair people (both the job seekers and the ones offering the jobs) are depressing me and making me feel like shit. Some are better. This one was of the ones that make my skin crawl.

Also, I'm starting to notice that if you go together with someone to a fair like this, rules are pretty much the same as going to a group blind date: only bring someone who's less pretty than you. Literally and figuratively speaking.

I mean sure, I can suffer through a guy ignoring me in favor of flirting with my friend, but it's frikkin annoying. Course the flirting doesn't matter, after all he is just a random guy out on the job fair and he is not the one who will be handling my application, but hell, it pisses me off like hell! I hate to be ignored and shrugged off, bite me. Who wouldn't be? But no thanks, I wouldn't want the flirting. He was fugly and made my skin crawl like crazy. Eugh.

And yes, I can understand why she's not shrugging him off, but why would my friend ask me to smile when this bloke has clearly no interest in me - and I feel like puking when I encounter a guy like this? Sure I could grin like a maniac, but that would lower my chances of getting a job. I'm sure he would remember a woman grinning like a maniac who only needs a butcher knife to turn into Dexter. So fuck this.

I guess I'm through with whining. I do realize you have to sell yourself, although I'm not sure why lying would help. But then again, anything goes.

Whatever. I've found a few places I am willing to send my applications in, and some I do NOT. Never say never, true, but as long as I have other options, no thanks.

So. Today's haul: vodafone mouse pad, phone hanger, key chain, a bunch of pens (one sparkly as in you hit it and light sparkles inside for half a minute or so, two pens with joysticky clicky parts, rest are simple ones) a beer opener (Becks) another key chain (also Becks), a magnetic bookmark, a box of play cards... I think this was all.

Yay me?

All I really want is a job, you know. But the sparkly and joysticky pens are kinda cool. ^^

Seriously? Seriously?!

I have been all over the city searching for some much needed Anchor perlé (sewing yarn), because the reseller said they sell Anchor perlé to this and this shop. (Ouch, my poor, achy feet! Now where is that warm pig belly?)

Well, let me tell you: they don't sell them there.

I had to settle for some Anchor non-perlé, thick and difficult to work with (because threads refuse to stick together), but it still beats the Puppets perlé with it's ridiculously fugly colours hands down. The Puppets perlé that every shop sells for some strange reason. Maybe it's cheaper? I mean sure it should be for being so fugly and useless.

Anyway, I'm done with my shopping (they tried to sell me DMC "perlé", which was floppy, soft and had washed out colours) and the shop's owner offers me an Anchor Calendar that costs a fortune and tells me I can buy it 30% cheaper if I buy 10 more Anchor err... yarn.

Now... anybody and their dog knows I have no use for calendars (and if I wanted any now in late March, I would buy an empty little booklet, number the pages after the months and days and be done with it, really). So I stare at him, baffled, wondering what the hell brought that on. I mean just because I make knotted bracelets out of perlé (yarn) it doesn't mean I need a calendar or even need a calendar with pictures of a certain yarn making company.

What the hell?

I told him politely that I'm done with my shopping, but thanks anyway.

But seriously... what the hell? I have at least 3 gadgets with in-built calendars at hand... why the fuck would I need a table calendar with yarn pictures???

Went to an interview (2nd round), will see how it went. If they call me back, they want me. If not... you know the drill.

Then went for a coffee with Eleanor and bought a top. Black. For spring/summer.

Then slept. I was wiped. I am never good when I have tow wake up early.

Then I watched Flashforward. And I am sad to report that the Asian guy is not so hot anymore. Nope, he is less and less interesting since the quantum physicist guy got more screen time.

Currently, the quantum physicist guy is my absolute fave, the lesbo girl comes second, anonymous alcoholic cop third (hey, he looks like he is finally developing a personality and backbone at last) and not-so-hot-anymore Asian guy is the 4th.

It's slightly worrying, that I'm starting to find blue eyed, blond guys with short, rumpled bed-hair cute. I blame Sark. No, I blame Anders. Or should it be Spike/Marsters? Or maybe Seifer Almasy? *sigh* Is it possible I like blond men just fine?!

small revelations

I have realized today why I'm not dating anybody right now and why I can't stand being in a relationship for more than 1-3 months.

It's not because I'm incapable of staying in relationships. I actually am capable of doing so. The problem isn't exactly on my end. The problem is much simpler and deeper than having commitment issues.

The problem is that I hate the personality of Hungarian men. I hate it that all they can do is whine and they do everything the roundabout way and they still don't get anywhere with anything (be it their lives or anything else). It's a Hungarian thing.

I mean hell, in America, even if they are raising idiots, they are raising self-sufficient idiots who can take care of themselves. I'm not saying they are brain-surgeons at the age of 18, but they can drive, do household chores... they have certain skills we simply lack. Why? Because we are raised to know all about history, ours and the world's, literature, maths, biology, chemistry, geography, physics, languages, etc. But we are not taught how to do everyday stuff or how to survive in this friggin country. At 18 we are still useless idiots while Americans, as uneducated as they are at 18, they still know how to survive in their country. And yes, this is why I can't stand the idea of dating a Hungarian. Ever.

That and the whole Hungarian mentality of only you matter, and that you lie, cheat, go the roundabout way, do anything to get out of paying taxes and generally can't be a decent human being. It doesn't matter if you kill the economy, because everybody else is doing too - so you will cheat, lie and steal too. But not just that. If someone else does better than you, you will hate that person. If you meet with a misfortune, you wish your neighbor would too, instead of wishing for your life to take a turn for the better. (And I'm sad to say I am Hungarian myself. I just want to escape from this horrid country.)

There is a joke about someone touring hell and seeing a couple of pits:
As a demon says, the first pit is where the Germans are kept under tight security, because if nobody looks at them for even a second, they would work together and get out in no time.
The second is where the British are kept, also under high security, because as the Germans, they would work together and escape were they not being watched 24/7.
The third pit, where the Hungarians are kept is not watched. Nobody cares what happens in the pit. Why? Because if any of them tries to get out, all the others would drag that one back down.

And I think this is why I can't date Hungarian guys. I can't stand them. I actually hate this bloody country. We need someone to clear out this pit and start again from scratch. And if someone tries the old tactics, that someone would be stuck in a rehabilitation center and kept there until they stop trying things the old way.

I went, I saw, I'm biased

I saw Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

*sigh*

It's more Through the Looking Glass than Alice in Wonderland. Yes, I do understand that nobody would have watched it under that title, but what about "Alice in Wonderland - Through the Looking Glass"?

Well. It was enjoyable. I'm not saying I'm giving it 10+... I'm gonna give it a 6,5-7... because of Johnny Depp. It is pretty... just vapid. But still an enjoyable watch for most. The visual effects rock.

So... the Hatter wasn't exactly unattractive. It was my first concern before watching it. But I'll talk about it later.

The visuals... rocked. (I watched it in 2D, since 3D looks blurry and makes me nauseous.) The characters looked awesome. But the Wonderland part...

I hated the barren look. It lacked every colour. I guess that was the intent, but I felt it was ugly and depressing. I wanted something pretty. The gnarly trees looked awesome though and well... it was ok, I guess. But the card soldiers... eugh. Fucking ugly. I expected something much prettier.

The queens both... pissed me off. The Red Queen... just the usual, I guess. Actually, she was much much more likable than the White Queen. I wished I could grab her head and smash it against a wall repeatedly until she stopped moving like that. Seriously, with those thick black eyebrows, thick black lipstick and her movements she looked like a transvestite. And where the hell were the White King and Knight? Not that I wanted to see any more trannies of course.

I guess I should read the book first before asking other, touchy questions like where were the other two queens?

So what did I miss? Emotions. Our Alice was all lukewarm. The only moment I liked her was when she decided to save the Hatter after all. Otherwise... she was sort of... empty. I mean she never showed emotions like crying or bitching... like people did in situations like hers. Also, there was no indication why she did what she did. Maybe I'm too used to books, but seriously, I've seen much better acting and much better plots than this.

The only saving grace was Johnny Depp. He completely stole the show. It should have been Mad Hatter in Wonderland. And I'm not even sure I liked him as Hatter. I like Depp, I like the characters he plays, and I like the Mad Hatter, but somehow these two together... I'm just not completely comfortable with the idea of a red headed Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter.

Yes, I know that Hatters went bonkers because of Mercury poisoning and that their hair turned red, so the Mad Hatter ought to be a redhead, but... I liked white haired, snarky Reginald, the Disney World type Mad Hatter.

Oh well. This gothic, weird Mad Hatter was ok too. Just a bit weird, unexpected and different.

I just wish the ending would have been a bit... different.

Whenever you think you're safe...

I took this photo a few days ago when that huge snowstorm was afoot. Tell me, tell me it doesn't remind you of Silent Hill!

Catching up

Yesterday we had a snowstorm. Maybe that's why I dreamt about a huge storm wrecking our house, me being trapped in the hospital full of carcasses and crazy people (silent hill?) and then on my way home lightning striking and lasting for half a minute... Not my best dream, believe me.

My hair is getting noticeably longer. I have to quench the urge to chop it off time after time, again and again. So very annoying. Sadly, it's still at the stage where it'd look stupid if I tried to tie it up. I mean I like to do the simple bun: pull it back, twist and clip it. (See picture for more details.) Alas, sadly it's not long enough for that, only to annoy me to great lengths. :(

And it's cold. I hate the cold. Why is it, that it's already March already and it's still below zero? Of course I just got 2 potted plants for woman's day. So did my mom. So the desk is full of plants. Gimme my spring already!!! T_T

Strangers from distant lands...

Well, not really. But this sounds so much better... some LotR fans might even recognize it as a quote.

Anyway. We do not fall for the cute brothers from the Netherlands. We don't. They are way too young, way too cute and way too far away most of the time. Not to mention we don't have many things in common. And the younger one is definitely not my type anyway.

Still... how come if there are two brothers I always, without fail, prefer the older one? Is it because the older one is more grown up? They usually are... *sigh* (Note: this does not apply to twins. Or never asked if it does. Still... never tried so I have no evidence.)

Edit: yes, it does apply to twins, apparently.

A funtineli boszorkány

Ki gondolta volna? Wass Albertet olvasok.

Ágaik helyenként leértek a fehér, tajtékzó vízhez.

Aztán lassan följött a hold, s a Bradulec tetejére kiült. A pojána szélén megnőttek a fák. Árnyak suhantak törzseik között. Túl, a Galonya katlanaiban párját hívta az öreg bagoly.
(...)
Mélységes volt a csönd s az éjszaka. Valaki ült az Istenszékén, s hosszú ősz szakálla köddel lepte a fenyveseket."

Szóval nem érdekel, mit mondanak a pasasról, a könyve akkor is tetszik.

Dexter would be so proud!

I went mad. I admit it. But I had to...

Today I went and bought some nail polish - cheap. Doesn't mean they are trash tho.

  • Maybelline - #59 - Crazy Coral, Colorama (a deeper, coral, metallic orange)
  • Astor - #071, Fash'n Studio (an almost milka-like violet with a mauve, satiny shine, because I sadly couldn't find magenta - it looks almost blue on the picture tho o.O)
  • essence - #053 ALL ACCESS, Multi dimension XXXL shine - oh my! (metallic deep green, like a peacock feather - love at first sight!)

Lucky me, there was a sale.

And this is the picture. Forgive me, I applied it sloppily. I will fix it later. The yellow one was an old Avon (French Manicure, gold dust) nail polish and since I had no magenta, the last nail (index finger) had a layer of coral, then a layer of violet and another layer of coral over it... strange, but actually pretty fun and not at all unpleasant).

And the non-metal knights

EMOCORE:
The knight’s mother drives the knight and his friends to the castle. He kills the dragon with some awesome armspinning and spinkicking while his friends observe the scene with their arms crossed. Then the princess laughs at the knight's ridiculous hairstyle and the boys leave weeping.

PUNK:
The knight hitchhikes to the castle, asks the dragon for some bucks, buys some cans of beer, gets pissed, insults the princess as “monarchist cunt” and “commerce bitch”, sprays the castle with anarchistic symbols and leaves in a black maria.

POP ROCK:
The knight and friends arrives in a limo. The dragon lets them in as long as they sign an autograph for its mum who is a big fan. The knight leaves with the princess and they get married.

PORNO GRIND:
The knight arrives at the castle without any clothes on and grunts loudly for a few minutes. Then he fucks the dragon in every body cavity it has, kills the dragon, fucks the carcass the same way again, grunts loudly again for a few minutes, grabs the princess and fucks her in every body cavity she has, kills her and fucks her in the same way again. Then he piles up the dragon’s and princess’s remains, fucks them in every body cavity they have, grunts loudly and screams senselessly for a few minutes. Then he leaves.

ROCK N’ ROLL:
The knight arrives on a motorcycle, smoking some pot and offers it to the dragon who happens to be his friend. He then camps out with the princess in the farther spot of the garden. After a lot of sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll he dies of an LSD overdose, drowned in his own puke.

REGGAE:
Our hero never arrives because he’s ‘tripping’.

ELECTRONIC:
They throw a rave party and everybody dies of an overdose.

All about Metal

This is not mine. It has been going around the metal community for ages. I just found it again and pieced them all together. Enjoy!

To describe each Metal type, imagine the usual knight rescuing the princess from a dragon scenario:

HEAVY METAL:
The knight arrives on a Harley Davidson, kills the dragon, drinks some beers and fucks the princess.

SPEED METAL:
Knight-kills-dragon-saves-princess-screws-her.

HARD ROCK:
The knight arrives wearing shorts and a cap. Disgusted, the princess clears off.

GRIND METAL:
The knight arrives, screams something completely undecipherable for about 2 minutes and then leaves...

POWER METAL:
The knight arrives riding a white unicorn, escapes from the dragon, saves the princess and they make love in an enchanted forest.

THRASH METAL: The knight arrives, fights the dragon, saves the princess and fucks her....... easy and quick.

FOLK METAL:
Our hero arrives with some friends playing accordion, pipes, violin and other weird instruments. The dragon falls asleep because of too much dancing and they leave… without the princess.

VIKING METAL:
The knight arrives in a ship, kills the dragon with his mighty mighty axe, cooks and eats it, rapes the princess to death, loots the castle and burns it down before he leaves.

DEATH METAL:
The knight arrives, kills the dragon, fucks the princess and kills her, then leaves.

BRUTAL DEATH METAL:
The knight arrives, kills the dragon, kills the princess then screws her.

GOTHIC METAL:
The knight arrives and kills the dragon. The princess falls madly in love with him, they get married with great ceremony, the king gives him his kingdom, he’s the hero of the people, he commits suicide with no explanation.

BLACK METAL:
The knight arrives at midnight, kills the dragon and impales it in the front of the castle.....then sodomizes the princess, drinks her blood in a ritual before killing her.....then he impales the deflowered princess.

TRUE BLACK METAL (OLD WAY):
The knight arrives pissed out of his mind, barfs into the moat, sacrifices the princess then starts hitting on the dragon.

TRUE BLACK METAL (NEW WAVE):
The knight arrives and starts telling the dragon that he’s all wrong, that he’s not actually evil. He kills the princess cause she interrupted him. The dragon, annoyed, eats him despite his spiked armbands. And says "you shouldn’t hurt ladies". (One can be a dragon AND a gentleman, what?)

GORE METAL:
The knight arrives, kills the dragon and spreads his guts in front of the castle, fucks the princess and kills her....then he fucks her dead body, slashes her belly open and eats her guts, fucks the carcass for the third time, burns the corpse and fucks it for the last time.

DOOM METAL:
The knight arrives, sees the size of the dragon and thinks that he never could beat him, gets depressed and commits suicide....the dragon eats his body and the princess as well.

GOTHIC METAL FEMALE SINGER:
She charms the dragon with her voice, goes to the princess, steals her dress and takes her place, then waits for her band’s drummer to come rescue her.

ALTERNATIVE METAL:
The knight arrives, refuses to be part of the system, tells the princess to screw herself and leaves.

PROGRESSIVE METAL:
The knight arrives with a guitar and plays a 26 mn solo, the dragon kills himself out of boredom, the knight goes to the princess’ bed, plays another solo, the princess runs away and goes looking for the Heavy Metal knight.

ATMOSPHERIC METAL:
The dragon’s scales gleam in the moonlight, the princess is on her balcony and gazes into the distance, melancholy; the wind gently ruffles the tree leaves in the forest. Not a knight in sight.

GLAM METAL:
The knight arrives late after spending 3 hours pimping himself up, gets in as the dragon laughs his head off at him, steals the princess’ make-up and paints the castle’s walls pink.

NU METAL :
The knight arrives and freaks when he sees the dragon, so he stays in front of the moat and makes obscene gestures at the princess. Then he goes back into the forest to wank off.

INDUSTRIAL METAL:
The protagonist arrives wearing a greasy overcoat, makes obscene gestures towards the dragon and gets escorted out of fairy tale land by security guards.

For the record, I still hate the rain, the grey skies, the cold weather, the pouring water freezing on the sidewalk and the dirty, remaining parts of the snow that refuse to melt.

Thought you might want to know.

I want spring already!

disturbing facts

The snowman that the kids in our house built is slowly melting. It's the old-school kind of snowman, carrot for a nose, all the works. Actually, the arms are also made of carrots and he had tangerines for eyes.

The melting got so bad the poor fellow shrank a lot and his eyes rolled out of their sockets. They are in front of him. It was kinda morbid... I laughed.

Second fact: I've finally started watching Dexter. The gore doesn't really get to me. Strange. Also, when the guys used a blood-splattered wall of a suicide victim as a Rorschach test... I lost it and laughed. I hope I'm not too weird.

Not to mention that ever since the first episode I have this strange feeling... because every time Dexter meets the black cop and they don't kiss, not even a make-up kiss after every fight...

I blame Six Feet Under. I mean said black cop is kind of a dead-ringer for Keith, and as we know, the actor playing Dexter was also playing Six Feet Under's David Fisher, who was, most of the time, in a relationship with Keith... a black cop.

Yeah. Blame me, but I have sort of grown up watching Six Feet Under (and other assorted TV series of that time, but you get my point).

There... I'm sort of... out of it, I guess. So sleepy.

...my brain hurts!

Today I saw a blog where someone was explaining in great detail how to tie a scarf. There was a picture included. On the picture you could see a woman with a scarf tied around her neck in a simple design: wrap it tightly around neck (not choking - for dummies), then bring both ends to the front and tie ends in one simple knot on the front loosely and let it hang.

Simple, no? Of course it is. Seriously, is there anybody who can fail at simply imitating a picture and tying their scarf around their neck two times (once tight, once loose with the ends tied in the front)? Well... obviously there are some people like that. Good gods!

I wonder, with the picture included, why she had to give such a detailed explanation. Have women became so vapid that we need step-by-baby-step explanations? Have our brains melted and is there only a chord running through our head between our ears to keep them attached?

Well, this was a nasty reality check. I didn't know there were women so vapid... so stupid... so very dense. I'm ashamed. And I want to hunt this woman down and beat some sense into her. Obviously, instead of shopping she should use her brain more often.

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Why men want to move in with you

I've had an epiphany. After years of breaking up with and saying no to guys who suddenly seemed to become very serious and wanted to live together with me.

Why don't I want guys to be serious about me? Because I hardly ever hook up with the right guy to settle down with. They are guys to well... fool around. They are either pretty and total idiots (how else would I be able to date a hot guy anyway?) or available. I have never, ever dated a guy I could imagine the future with.

Those guys I could imagine my future with hardly ever spare me a glance. They usually pick the heartless pretty bitches who suck them dry and leave them - and they go for the next one in a few days - or they pick the very best. Either way, the good ones (the ones most women want) are well aware that they are out of my league. But still, I refuse to date scraps seriously. I still have my pride. Not to mention I'd rather go without than get into a relationship with a guy I can't or can barely tolerate.

Anyway. Back to the topic. Those guys who wanted to move away from mommy's coddling and find a nest with me staying over... now I know it wasn't about little old me and our exciting future together. They wanted a maid, who cooks them nice meals, who washes their clothes and cleans up after them and who drops her panties whenever they ask her to. Pure win, they thought. Who would leave mommy's cooking and care if they didn't get a bonus (as in a nice tumble or two when they want it)?

Well... now you know why a guy would move away from her mom and lure you to move in with him. Or at least the kind of guys I dated would.

Am I indignant and pissed off? Hell yeah. I mean they would get a maid and a whore... and what would I get? More chores!

At least the latest one admitted he expected me to cook, wash, clean and to sleep with him while I stayed over at his flat. Obviously I said hell no. I didn't even want to go from the start.

So, pigs, this is for you: you want a maid and a whore: go find one. But don't try asking me! What I want is a partner, not a landlord who works me and fucks me. Get real!

OMG These Assholes!!!!!!!!!

The heirs and next of kin of Hungarian Holocaust victims are seeking reparations from the Hungarian railroad company.

The complaint describes plaintiffs as "Hungarian Jewish victims of the Hungarian Holocaust or their heirs or next of kin" who are suing defendant Hungarian National Railroad for, among other things, "knowingly providing the trains for delivering 437,000 Jews to their deaths in Auschwitz," and looting plaintiffs' possessions and valuables.

"The defendant knew exactly what it was doing. It was using nearly all of its trains day and night to transport people one-way to Auschwitz. The trains were empty as they rattled along the tracks back to Hungary. Without the trains provided by [defendant], hundreds of thousands of Jews could not have been transported to Auschwitz," the complaint states.

The complaint also states "Even though discussion of money is necessarily crass in the context of the unspeakable evil that was inflicted upon the Holocaust victims, nevertheless the law is powerless to do anything other than to obtain financial restitution."

WHAT
THE
FUCK?!

These opportunistic bastards, who weren't even born yet are suing my country and me, included a big bunch of people who also have lost relatives for money for... what exactly...????

Because the railroad company is owned by the country itself. So we Hungarians would have to pay! So... they are suing the company (that is run by Hungary itself), that had been under orders??? About 65 years later?! When nobody who did it is even alive anymore?!

So in plain words they are suing Hungary itself for the holocaust losses? Why not sue Germany instead? That would be a little more logical imho.

Why aren't they suing the politicians instead, who had all to do with this?

Oh, because they are dead? Or because even if they were alive they would be in prison and unable to pay?

Money-hungry fucking assholes!!!!

I hope these fuckers get their asses whipped and get taught a very very important lesson. How about learn to think, for starters, asshats?!

Hell, now I hate America even more!

The Twelve Kingdoms

I have a few bones to pick with this anime. I was bored so I watched it, but I found it lacking. A lot.

The story was simple enough, but the whole thing felt flat. There were no jokes, no sarcasm, nothing remotely interesting happened. It failed to be funny, it failed to be entertaining and it failed to be creepy as well. It also failed to be scary... but it didn't fail to be depressing and booooooooooring!

So... It was a fantasy one. A girl gets spirited away to a fantasy land to be a ruler. Major mishaps happen, girl meets a lot of bad people until someone finally tells her what's going on. After a load of trouble she gets to be a ruler, and from then on we see other stories about the other kingdoms. All these stories are separate and the thing is just tedious. I didn't stay up late to watch more and more of it.

My problems:
  • The idea was good, but there was a crapload of technical terms, and I couldn't remember what meant what, didn't feel like taking notes for any anime I watch for enjoyment (where's the enjoyment?!) so I was continuously puzzled and lost.

  • One original idea was that in the fantasy world where everything took place kids grew on trees in fruits... which was all nice, but then what need was there for males and female? I mean why did women have breasts, when that part only happened to develop thanks to evolution to lure in males and to feed babies... so what's the point? It was an inconsistent and badly done part. Not to mention there were still marriages, but there was never a same-sex couple, women were mostly maids, I didn't see one female scholar even in the most flourishing country and there was only one female warrior... the female protagonist. Pathetic.

  • Even though sex did not exist in the fantasy world, hookers did. The first "nice" person the protagonist and her friends met sold them to a brothel. What, pray tell, do the hookers do over there? Because sex ain't one of those things. I'm still flabbergasted at this huge mess up.

  • Nobody ever cracks a joke. Well, there was one time. That joke died right there. It wasn't really a joke, just an attempt. There was nothing funny or entertaining in there.

  • Everything was predictable. I mean you knew who the bad guy was and that he was gonna die in a few episodes' time.

  • Good people almost always died a painful and horrid death. If one of the main heroes met someone nice, friendly and pretty much harmless you were sure they were either gonna part ways the next episode or end up skewered, eaten by some monster or in some other gruesomely gory fashion.

  • The artwork was... decent. Not pretty exactly. Clothes were mostly bulky. Some were frilly, but those only happened to the girls with the gravity-defying hairdos who took care of the kirins and who were also having err... it was suggested they were having sex with men who came whenever a new kirin was presented to the world. I'm floored, I am.
This is all I can think of now. The story could have been better, new terms could have been less or more memorable... No, I vote for less. This isn't a frikkin classroom, learn to entertain! Sadly, with the children born from a tree all the sexual jokes and innuendos were gone, so... it was boring. No jokes at all were mentioned and somehow the whole thing sucked.

Why did I still watch it? I need something in the background while I crochet or bead. I multi-task often. But this wasn't really what I wished for.

My advice: avoid. Plot is predictable and pretty boring, artwork is decent, but can be a turn-off a lot of times, not funny, only slightly entertaining and you get lost in the terms for almost everything in the fantasy world. The only good thing is the soundtrack, all 2-3 of those songs.

I give a 3 out of 10 for this series, and I was generous because of the nice soundtrack.

Out of blood, wanna eat brainsssss instead

Today, I had to go and get my blood taken. Which meant waking up way too early and of course eating nothing after 6 in the previous evening. I frikkin hate that they can't do an afternoon blood taking for those who don't fall asleep naturally at 8 in the evening and wake up bright and early next morning. Bloody uncaring bastards, the lot.

So my day started at 01:05, when I woke up. I went to sleep rather early at 10 last night so I wouldn't freeze to death or grow too hungry.

Obviously, the plan didn't work. I tried sleeping and thought about stuff until it became unbearable to just lie there in the dark all bored and not sleepy in the slightest. So from around 3 in the morning I read till I felt a bit sleepy and decided to lie back down at 5:30. I only managed to fall asleep due to the background noises around 6:15. My clock woke me up at 6:30.

So I got dressed and went down to get my blood sample taken. I had to walk to the doc, because the tram just left when I arrived at the stop. Was about -8°C. I was damned hungry. But I was all nice. Why spoil other people's day as well?

A few women asked me where they could get a number, so I pointed out to them (I asked the receptionist women last time, so I was prepared). And then came the old man. He asked me, I told him where he could get a number. He told me, whining, that he only wanted to talk to the lab receptionists (the "lab" wing/department is where blood samples are taken and where you had to submit other samples to the receptionists if this department obviously, and who handled doctor's notes before you were told which door you had to wait in front of - and they also gave you the lab results back). I told him he had to pick a number there, see that pillar, yes, there was a screen on the side of it... He interrupted me, not caring, asking me again and again, not letting me to explain, bitching that he only wanted to talk to the lab receptionists. Then he turned, not saying a thing and asked the old man standing next to me. He explained the same thing I told him, and the old bitchy man went there without another word and got himself a frikkin number. WHAT THE HELL, BASTARD?!

Anyway, I stood there, not daring to sit down in case I fell into a deadly sleep and miss my once-in-28-days chance. I got called to the receptionist, who was quite amazed at all the stuff that will be analyzed from my blood. She gave me a bunch of papers and told me to wait. I did. And then I got called in. The woman inside (there were about 4 other people all getting their blood sucked out taken told me briskly to undress and then shouted "oh sweet Jesus". Whoa. She was looking at the paper. She told me that that list was a lot. I asked her if I'd have any blood remaining. She didn't answer.

Luckily, I had a tank top under my pullover and turtleneck, mostly because it was so frikkin cold out there, so I wasn't only in my bra when my blood was taken. She took5 (well, I remember counting at least 5 clicks but I think it was prolly 6) test tube full of blood from me (and let it be mentioned I had to go there on the third day of Aunt Irma's visit to boot), slapped some gauze on my arm and told me to press down on it for 5 minutes and to get out because she had to attend to the next one.

Boy, was I glad I wasn't naked. I tried to reach down to take my pullover and bag while she screamed at me to press down on the gauze. I told her something along the lines of: I can't grab my stuff, clear out and press down on it as well. I think I might have been a bit snappy. Oh well. Anyway, I finally got out and got ogled by a bunch of men. Thanks. Who asked them to look? I was half dead, totally out of blood, about to faint and all they could do was ogle my boobs. I really would have appreciated it at that point if someone helped me to a chair. Instead I stumbled to one and fell into it.

I pressed down on the gauze until the bleeding stopped, but thanks to the woman not helping me with my stuff (would it have been that much of a bother to help me sling my bag (wasn't heavy at all) onto my shoulder and throwing my pullover over my arms so I didn't ahve to let go of the gauze??) I had... still have a purple bruise. Not big, just a bit painful. Assholes. I sorta wish I had fainted there. It would have given them more trouble. Do you just shoo someone out after taking that much blood?!

Anyway. I climbed to the first floor, got into the toilet to tuck my tank top and turnleneck back into my pants, because I really didn't want to catch a cold. A woman opened the door on me (I wonder if she has heard of knocking) and didn't close the door. Bitch. Then I washed my hands and ate the 9 baby tomatoes I brought with myself and ate a small bun. I wasn't really hungry at that point. I was dead tired. But since I was already in the city, I had to go to places.

First I went to the post recovering a letter the frikkin postman failed to deliver (he assumed nobody was at home so I had to spend time on getting the letter from the post office myself - I wonder what the hell postmen are for). Then I went and bought myself pretty pretty mother of pearl buttons. 2 bigger, 4 medium. Should have bought more. Oh well. Then I went and bought myself T-clasps for my bracelets. I got a discount because I was a return customer. Yay! <3

Then I went to my flat, got my mail, and then went home. The frikkin basement cat attacked me. I had to feed him and he poked me enough so I had to pick him up and scratch his ears. (I was afraid if I bent down I'd faint.) He in return of my kindness sunk his claws into my arm right next to the needle mark. I screamed and put him down nicely on a chair. He stared miffed at me and went to sleep. I didn't have the heart to kick him out, even though he wasn't my cat but the neighbour's.

Then I decided to air out the flat in hopes of letting some fresh oxigen in and scaring the cat away. And when the blast of air slammed a door shut the cat decided to leave after all. Which was good, because once I closed the doors and turned the heater back on I fell into the bed, barely managing to kick off my pants and pullover and fell into a deeeep sleep.

I woke up at 6 in the evening, feeling slightly better, scared shitless. It was the second time in my life I had no idea where I was, when it was and what was happening, why I was there, etc. It was a really creepy experience. I'm one who always knows where she is and what time of day it is (as in morning, afetrnoon, etc). Five minutes later my mom came home and told me I was green as spinach.

I looked into the mirror and - I'm not kidding - jumped back in horror. My skin was greenish-white, my lips eerily red, even though they were faded too. I looked like a zombie. So I ate and drank as much as my stomach could manage.

My folks left to buy fish (newest passion in our family) and when they came back at 9 I wasn't that green anymore. I still feel a bit faint and am freezing, but now I feel better. I wonder just how much blood they could have taken. I've never felt like this after they have taken my blood... ever.

Wristwarmers, finally

It's so damn cold my wrists needed something to warm them up. Sadly, no matching buttons.

Crochet corner

Yesterday I stumbled upon a crocheted bracelet. A few days ago I saw a similar Victorian lace pattern, so I decided why the hell not, I'll make my own.

Sadly, yarns are seriously expensive these days, and the second hand shop where I buy my yarns has been out of yarns since before Christmas. They said I'll have to wait 2 more weeks and then they might have a new shipment.

And yes, I prefer second hand yarns. I buy unused yarn, there are some their original protective wrappings, and there are the leftovers, clearly unused, just not a full ball of yarn. I don't mind these. After all here 50g of yarn (100% wool) costs 15 HUF, while in any yarn shop it costs 590-790 HUF, depending on colour. Can you blame me? I mean buying yarn for a hat you wanna make costs twice as much as a hat you buy in a random shop! This is insane.

Anyway, I sadly have little ecru coloured yarn, so I used my leftover ball of macramé thread. It was a bit bulky and thick, but the overall look of the bracelet is pretty neat, so who cares?

The bracelet is completed with some leftover silk ribbon I had in my bag of ribbons and a button I've had laying around.

Pretty neat, huh?

Announcement

Since most of my readers know me and have me on msn, it's for you guys.

I'm freaking out. My doc sent me to a few checkups, and they turned out to be connected. I initially laughed it off as useless and thought him a meddling creep. I'm not going to rant about him for a long time. If my brain stays in one piece I'd even smooch him! Hell, I'm chanting please let it be goitre instead.

I know I'm pathetic. I don't want to talk about it. I'm freaked out and I'm trying to deal with it. I just hope I don't have that thing. I can't even say what I'm most afraid of. How pathetic is that?

That's why I'm making an announcement. Stop asking questions, stop making glib comments or crappy jokes about my "condition" because they are sure as hell not appreciated. Thanks. I hope the test results will come back negative. Well... meaning the cause is something else. But seriously, just let it be something else.

And I haven't found this "on the net" and claim to have it. Insensitive jerk. Yes, you! Hell, I don't want to have it! That's why I'm freaking out in the first place! That time of the month my ass.

Also, stop hammering me with praises. Yeah, it's you I'm talking to. (You know who you are.) It's making me uncomfortable, because I never wanted praises I did not earn. I know myself and I know who I am. Stop showering me with praises I don't deserve. (Hell, after reading this post nobody will think I deserve any praises at all.)

And stop talking about mushy stuff. I don't do that. I can't deal with that. I never liked mushy stuff, never will. Especially now.

I just want to talk about superficial stuff that lifts my mood and takes my mind off of things. If you get dumped or life sucks, please go look for someone else to complain to. I have enough personal crap of my own.

And if you pm me and ask how I'm doing today or how I'm dealing with things, I'll block you. I'm fighting hysterics. I'm being pathetic. That's how I am these days. If you really have to, talk to me about superficial stuff and I'll calm down.

You've been warned.

PS: Bear with me or leave me alone. I'm scared shitless. I feel like crawling under the desk and crying my eyes out.

And no, this is not a cry for help. This is a warning. If you can deal with me, so be it. If not, just piss off. And don't baby me, it'll make me feel all sorry for myself. I'm really not happy with how I am these days. It's been 2 days. I will get better. Just don't step on a land mine, or I'm back where I started.

More thongs!

Since I've bought a few pretty beads I decided to make some more book thongs.
A pretty bunch, don't you agree?
(Note: try not to bend them, because the metallic beads are not as snug on the yarn as the glass beads, sadly, so they might slide up a few millimeters if you're careless.)

Book Thong

I made a bookmark, because it was just too pretty and I had to have one.
It's made of leftover yarn and leftover beads from summer. Yum!

Instructions can be found here.

And I made another tonight, so I'll put up a piccie of that one as well. It's more... manly or simple, I think.

Tramps Like Us

Tramps Like Us. It was a manga I purchased dirt cheap in a second hand book shop around the metro stop of Notting Hill Gate, London. It was pure coincidence. It was in the basement, buried under other books. I almost didn't buy it because my package was pretty heavy already and it had to be lighter than 20kg. It was an utter coincidence I bought it. If Satrio didn't point out the basement and the dirt cheap books, if Eleanor wouldn't have picked it up and then discarded it, I don't think I'd have seen it, ever.

But I did. And bought it. I read the first two chapters right that night. The story appealed to me in so many ways. I mean a working woman takes on a guy as a pet. He is an easygoing, younger guy. She gets a clean, decently-behaved, intelligent pet, he gets a place to live, food to fill his stomach and amazing backrubs. She gets to vent her anger and spoil her pet, he gets pampered and spoiled... and sometimes yelled at. They click. But of course there is a catch: no romantic feelings and absolutely no sex.

And then you have to read about his exes, her big relationship with an old flame, almost getting married with said old flame while her pet hardly ever gets recognized as a guy by her. Although he is trying and hard.

Through agonizing volumes this goes on. Until finally, finally the woman gets a clue.

I finally got to read the last 6 volumes tonight. Let's just say this was a huge overload.

But somehow this manga was dear to me because hell, as a working woman I'd love to have a pet like that. Easy to amuse yourself, you don't have to worry about cajoling said pet out of it's cage, he wouldn't scratch the sofa, no poop on the carpet and he can actually tell what the hell is wrong or what he wants to eat. Pure win.

Yeah, I have a scary and twisted personality. But I don't care. I don't think there is anything wrong with wishing to be an office woman who keeps a guy who has his own life by day but is your pseudo-pet in the evenings. Ok, the no sex and no feelings attached rule is pretty stupid, but otherwise... I'd take that anytime.

And yeah. I am serious. Crazy as it sounds. Although I don't have sadistic or masochistic tendencies out of the norm.

Today, my mom decided I should study to be a nurse that specializes in caring for the elderly. There was something about that in the news.

I believe, for most of you it sounds like a grand, humane and most of all glorified job. For minimum or below wage.

I never claimed to be nice, warm, cozy and well... a good person. I'm about average, personality-wise.

And damned if I ever imagined myself working as a nurse washing soiled bedclothes, dressing up batty old women and trying to reason with old men to put on their pants... or taking them off when they have soiled them. Not to mention all the whining and well... simply everything that comes with nursing the elderly.

Yes, I'm a total bastard for seeing the bad things in everything, because we can learn so much from the older generation, because they are so wise... Well. Let me tell you something. Just because they are older it doesn't mean they are wiser too. Not all of them are even in their right mind. And I'm not Peter Petrelli to revel in my nurturing nature and nurse old people. Because not everybody is a nice old man with a sound mind, who is already bedridden and thus catheterized.

So. No. NO! NO! NO! Hell no, fuck no, I'm not doing it!!! I don't care if I sound shallow or sheltered or simply spoiled rotten (something I definitely am not btw), but I'm not changing diapers until I have a kid and never ever after. And I don't even think I can deal with kiddy poop even. I mean just the thought makes me nauseous. I didn't go and study two different professions just to take care of soiled bedclothes!

You know why I don't want to take care of the elderly besides the cleaning up? Because kids you can tell off. Elderly, who have the mental state of kids you can't shout at or tell off and whatever, because it's not polite. I'd sooner deal with kids than elderly. I'm older at least and they respect that, or might. I'm younger than the elderly and they don't care about any sort of authority. You are never allowed to slap an old person, ever, even if it's the softest, most careful slap ever. Fuck no. I never wanted to be a nurse. It never appealed to me. I am NOT gonna do it!

Oh and yes, I am speaking from experience.

Public transport on strike

The public transport strike has been going on since Tuesday and now even the railway people joined in. For a few hours. Trains are going smoothly again tho. They only ruined the morning.

But still, the city sorta ceased to work. I mean those lucky few who live and work around the metro lines are lucky, everybody else can't get to work. People are taking cars, some organize the "full car movement", aka those with cars write their destination on an A4 paper and place it on the right bottom of their windshield so other people can hail them like taxies and so less cars are on the roads.

Still, the whole city is a traffic jam, the smog is mounting and boy, am I glad I didn't have to go out so far. (I managed to shuffle my teaching hours into next week. I really meant next week.) I hope they fix this by Tuesday, because I don't feel like walking home from my doc - or from the other end of the city. I don't mind walking, but for 2 hours and climbing a hill? Fuck no!!

And yes, I do understand those guys have it bad. But are they worth as much as every other worker in the city? And no, I don't think so. I do understand they want a raise. But this is outrageous. Because of them others are losing their jobs and money and precious hours. No, I can't feel for them.

I wish BKV (public transport company) would just hire some drivers and make sure at least one frikkin bus would work on each line. I may sound horrid, but I fucking don't care, because trekking up this hill I live on, not to mention under 0°C is nothing close to fun.

So my message to you, public transport people: fuck you!!! I don't care!!! You dragged this on for days now, nothing changed, and we can't get anywhere because of you!!! You don't have the right to cripple the capital of a country and halt public transport just because you feel like it!!!

Go on a fucking hunger strike or something, just stop ruining the life of every person in this city!

Boy, that felt... not enough at all. ><

Shiny!

On the 13th day of... January, my uhm... true love sent to me... :P

No, he really did send me a package. Although the true love part is debatable.
It restored my faith in our postal service... to a limit.

I got one eye shadow,
Two shiny pens,
Three Four coins.

I'm so happy! The pens are shiny and the eye shadow is sparkly and uhm... should I be happy that I got money from a guy? :P

Well, I'm still happy. Thank you so so much!

Canceled due to bad weather

Boy, am I glad our shopping spree got canceled due to bad weather - and I got to sleep in. I stayed up till 5 in the morning, reading manga.

I did plan to go and sleep 2 hours earlier at least, but then I remembered that I know a new place for manga and lo and behold, they had the two other volumes of the thing I was looking for.

So I stayed up till morning, reading it. O.o

It was... whoa. It had nearly all the things I ask for in a manga: it had blood and gore (in moderation), blood-curdling, chilling revelations, tragedy, cynical-sarcastic humor, passion and last but not least no trace of cutesy stuff - be it cute little kids, pets or air headed girls. The sex scenes I could have done without, but whatever, we can't have it all.

So it was amazing. It kept me on my toes. It had me hissing and twitching to cover my eyes at a certain crucial point, and not because of the gore at all. The face of the main character a second before the factory doors are closed and he gets locked in with all the bad guys - a few seconds before he gets pummeled near to death - and he looks out at his lover he just pushed through the door and thus saved... That look in his eyes... Yep, there we go. I just love a good manga with tragedy but without all the soppy angst. Gut wrenching pain? Hell yeah! Soppy feelings and talking it out? *retch* Ditsy girls and cutesy shit? Hell no!

Personally, I'm happy the guy didn't actually get raped as threatened, because that would have been a new ick level. Although come to think of it, Gutts, hero of Berserk also got raped in the first or second chapter of the series. Not really something that gets you interested in a manga, but hell, that series is one of my absolute favourites. All that blood and gore and suffering! And it's so dark, so very dark...! So I guess a rape can move a story forward and explain someone's twisted character, but I really don't like reading about it.

And still... beneath all that blood and gore and the rape and fights and uh... tragedy I guess... it was still kinda cute. And sweet. In a twisted sort of way.

...although now that I've checked it, I knew why the artwork was so familiar. Checking up on the author rewarded me with new info. Mainly that it was one of her works that put me off this certain genre for years. Due to this previous work of hers I was creeped out for at least a week!

Let's just say it was the most disgusting, twisted shit I've ever encountered. It was in some all-boys' school where the food-chain of power was long decided and in walks some guy who wants to know why his brother had been killed here a few years prior. In the first pages we see a hanged woman, then the hanged older brother, a few pages later the "school rules" explained and a power-rape. I stopped reading it after that.

I've never read anything so disgusting and deranged, period. I mean Berserk has some twisted shit, but that... that was so disgusting I was creeped out, disgusted and out of it for at least a week. I still feel the bile rising now when I try to recall it. Disgusting, twisted, fucked-up crap!

Yuck.

So back to the other manga.... It was good. I liked it. But I'm not gonna share. I'm pretty sure it's not really to any of my friends' tastes.

bring it on :P

...someone catch that tank!

Yes, that tank went over me. I'm still not healthy, but I'm the healthiest of my family. My dad borrowed by bucket and was violently sick all night long. My mom was less sick, she managed to keep it all down, but now she is running a 38,3°C fever. I spent the night making lots of tea for them and me as well and made lots of apple puree for them this morning. Then went to sleep.

This morning my muscle-pain was so bad even breathing hurt. My back even cramped up and the muscles were sore from throwing up, my neck from the stupid position I slept in because I felt nauseous and my sides hurt like hell as well...

So being violently ill is not as fun as it looks like. Yeah, projectile vomiting might look fun, but believe me, the acid burns your throat and you have to clean up afterwards... not to mention all the muscle pain and cramps.

Laughing still hurts like bloody murder, but if I lean back to press my back against the backrest or my back to the wall if I'm standing I won't convulse in pain.

Well. At least I have something to write about, I guess. Currently I'm trying to keep down a few bites of normal food. Wish me luck.

Ugh...

Seriously... I can't believe I'm starting the new year like this.

I felt nauseous on the first night of the year. I wasn't hung over, I didn't drink but a few sips of champagne. It was probably the salad.

After the first two sessions I spent hours sitting on the toilet, holding a bucket. I even tried to clean the floor. And the walls. Let's just say bending down wasn't a wise idea. I love my bucket.

I spent the 2nd of January in bed, trying to hold down empty tea and to nurse my throat back to a less painless stage. Throwing up has side effects. Let's just say my throat feels like it got burned. Acid is not fun.

I slept 2 hours, had to go to the toilet, luckily I wasn't throwing up, but I wasn't well. I'm trying my best not to spell out why I had to run to the toilet a couple of times. Anyway, sleep, toilet, tea, sleep, rinse repeat was what I did all day.

In the evening I was hungry and thought I could keep some food down. Have I mentioned all the shivering? Prolly not. I kept shivering and shaking, evidence of my blood sugar crawling below zero. Anyway, I ate half an orange and about 3 bites of bread. In an hour. I kept it down. So after a while, I mean an hour or two I was allowed to eat some apple puree. While we watched Batman Begins with my folks, which in itself is a miracle (my mom prefers chick flicks and my dad hates anything even remotely fantasy-like), I ate half of one apple's puree. Woo-hoo.

I ate the rest later.

Then I noticed I was running a fever. At first it was just 37,8°C, but my mom made me try again. It was about 38,1°C when I got fed up with taking my temperature, so I took an Aspirin. And went back to bed.

I woke up at 4 in the morning, hungry and craving chicken like mad. Ate one apple's puree, one slice of toast and currently munching on a small bun. I still crave chicken, damnit.
