Welcome to monsoon country!

We have all! Downpour, storm, drizzle, hail, floods and cats and dogs. Yay!!

I'm really irritated with the weather. Who the hell switched our summer with tropical "winter" anyway?

Sam, the thirsty coala

This video made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Poor little coala.

The poor thing chugged down 3 bottles of water and her (I think?) paws were badly scorched. But she's recovering!

I love this place!

Midsummer

This sucks. Seriously. Last night was the Museum Night (held each year on the Saturday closest to Midsummer) and it was one of the coldest nights of this summer. It was about 11°C (or less) and it was the first time I didn't go.

For one thing, I have already seen all the exhibitions I wanted to, and for another... it was seriously one of the worst nights ever. Cold, wet, chilly.

I remember that on every Museum Night we fanned ourselves even at 10 in the evening.
I remember 3 years ago standing in line in front of the Asian Museum waiting to get in and see the exquisite jewelry boxes, and dying of the hot weather. At 22:00! (Give or take a couple of minutes.)
Last year and the year before we picked underground places, like the Labyrinth under the Castle District and the Bunker that was used in both World Wars. It was nice and cool down those places. And we felt glad.
We had to refill our bottles with water every few hours and still dying of thirst.

But this... this weather is like late autumn.

And tonight was Midsummer. (Technically it was yesterday night but it's past 3 in the morning and I haven't gone to sleep yet - but will do so after writing this.) And this is the coldest, unfriendliest, wettest Midsummer I've been able to remember.

It sucks. Midsummer should be hot during the day and balmy in the evening, you should be able to go out in skimpy clothing and light bonfires, jump over (small) fires and generally enjoy the whole thing. (I left out the bacon because that's not healthy :P.)

But this year Midsummer was... like the autumn equinox. The sun never shone, we had 14°C during the day, heavy clouds, rains here and there, fog, cutting wind... you get it. And the weather has been like this for weeks. For a few days it gets better and then it's back to wet and cold and overcast and foggy and just plain disgusting. It's your average cut-your-wrist-depressing weather.

I frikkin hate this! >< Where did my summer go?

Do you think I'm crazy for thinking he's hot?

Friday, June 05, 2009

Tonight I was doing random browsing again. And as we all (should know) it usually gives some very... interesting results.

Actually, after a while I ended up on a page with a lot of... come to think of it, let's not talk about that. Like... ever.

So... what else did I see? Seifer. As a kid, in clothing that is probably every pedophile's daydream. I mean they couldn't have made it skimpier while it looked... well... kind of boyish. I mean with hotpants he would have looked like a girl. But seriously... why would a guy wear a top that shows off his frikkin bellybutton? I dunno who's to blame for this, Disney or Square Enix, but boy... eeeek!

And yes, yes, I know Kingdom Hearts II has been out since ages, but still. Now I know it was good never to touch another FF game ever again. *whimper*

And then... oh my dear eyeballs... I saw a female cosplaying as Seifer. The boobies were sticking out of the top.

Disgusting.

I honestly don't get women who cosplay male characters. Is it some sort of mental illness on their part like: "Since I can't get *insert character name here* I'll cosplay as him, tee-hee!" or something similar? I mean sure it has some kind of twisted logic to it but it's still sick.

Girls dressing as ordinary boys I have no problem with, but girls cosplaying as guys I have lots. I think I did say this once before, but I'll say it again: it should be punishable by law. It's the same as some hairy-legged guy crossdressing/cosplaying as some skimpy anime girl. Or someone flat as a board dressing up as some voluptious anime girl. It's just so wrong on so many levels.

I don't get people who cosplay as someone who is not the right gender, doesn't match the body type, is a totally different height or just looks plain wrong as the character. And trust me, after seeing some girl the size of a baby hippo dressed as Sakura with pink hair and frills it's... creepy.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not slim either, I'm not dissing anyone because they happen to be fat. I'm dissing them because they have no self-awareness that they look plain wrong and... disgusting cosplaying like someone who definitely doesn't look anything like them. It's plain wrong. If I ever see someone like that I'll point my finger and laugh.

So here are a few cosplay images that make me retch:

A female Seifer cosplayer, who's not only female but fugly as well. I never imagined Seifer as a skank. I mean there was always Fujin...

Yes, this one is also supposed to be Seifer. I can't really say why. And notice the... uh... gloves. They look painful on so many levels. Scuse me while I look for a bucket.

A male Faye. Enjoy. I enjoy it just as much as the female skank Seifer. I hope now everybody sees my point.

Couldn't find the hippo, so... here's another. Dunno who she's supposed to be... but ouch.

Catgirl... in a different light. It'll give me nightmares for weeks.

And last but not least... at least he's honest about it. :D

Whoops...

Today I was caught staring at an Asian guy. He was most probably either Chinese or Vietnamese. He most definitely wasn't Japanese, that I could tell. He was also most definitely cute and I was so engrossed in staring I didn't notice he was looking back.

Whoops.

But hey, he didn't seem to mind.

Maybe it is like what Sam told me. I'm turning into an Asianphile... Cliff, if you read this, you'd better run!

...just joking.
...but he was still very cute...
